the long undertow

I just got back from a screening for Hot Rod.  I probably wouldn't have seen it otherwise, but I'm glad I went to the screening because it is hilarious.  I highly recommend it.  I would try to describe the humor, but I'm afraid I wouldn't do it justice.  I'm not saying it's genius or anything, but the guys who made it know how to make a funny movie.

In addition to this movie, I really wanna see SuperBad... Both have D-List celebrities in em, which I really appreciate.

I'm glad you liked it, I'll check it out once it is released nationwide.

good to hear long undertow...  looking forward to it... looks very funny.

The Hot Rod trailer seemed painfully unfunny to me. They played it before Transformers both times I saw it, and neither crowd had much of a reaction. Superbad, on the other hand, looks pretty funny. I'm really starting to love Jonah Hill. Hollywood's been lacking a genuinely funny fat guy for a while.

I totally agree.  I wasn't planning on seeing it, but am glad I got invited to a free screening.  The trailer doesn't really give an accurate representation of the movie.  There is a lot of physical humor, but there's more to it than that.

The Lonely Island guys are great, you should checkout their videos on youtube. It's basically what got them in the staff and cast of SNL. I've been following these guys since they were submitting videos on channel101.com. Here's their videos on youtube.

I like this group, too with the exception of Andy Sandberg.  Well, when he's part of the group he's not so bad, but on his own he's really unfunny.  I loved the SNL skit they did where they fight stuffed cats with lasers in Lorne's office.

I thought it looked funny too. Not sure if I'll get to see it in theaters though but at least it's worth a rental.

not to mention will arnett.

I didn't feel like Will Arnett got enough use.  Same with Chris Parnell.  Will got a good couple of bits later on, and Chris wasn't even in the movie until the end, but both were sort of cast as straight men for the others to play off of.

I really want to see that as well, someone mentioned Arnett - who rules, but I love George Michael just as much.  He's just as funny, in his own, fumbling way.

You know, I've seen Arnett and his wife Amy Poehler together, and not that I should be judging, but somehow I pictured her as the last person he'd marry.  She seems really... loud.

And not particularly funny. I can't stand Amy Poehler. She made me miss Jimmy Fallon, for crapsake.

Haha I liked his John Mayer impression - "Flalalalaflaa faa la grabbllal  presents  ala graaa... christmas."
