Double-posting this so everyone sees it :)

Yes, that's right, the time to try and guess the next movie is almost at hand.

Game will start approx. 1pm Pacific Standard Time, or 4pm Eastern.

What's the rule this time? Stay tuned!

HERE ARE THE RULES!

(Thanks to jetjaguar for the idea!)

Every question must contain reference to a potential crossover movie, starring a character from Harry Potter, and an actor or character from a previously-riffed movie. This should mean that your question is in some way related to the previously-riffed movie you are referencing.

For example (movie poster included for comical effect and visual aide):

Coming this spring, what happens when a young boy wizard learns that his father is a truck-driving, hat-wearing, musclebound arm wrestler? He begs him for affection, of course! In early 2008, Harry Potter. Sylvester Stallone. Over the Top 2: Mind Over Muggle.

Was the movie made in the 80s?

This is an example of an acceptable question. Of course, your "movie synopsis / description" doesn't have to be very elaborate - just reference a character from the Potter books, and an actor or character from one of our previously riffed movies, before stating your question (which MUST be related somehow to the already-riffed movie).

The first question after 1:00 pm will be the first one answered. After that, we will decide from each "batch" of questions (between answers) we feel is the funniest or most clever mashup. That question will be the next one to get answered.

The MVP of this game, as well as the person who asks the winning question, will receive a gift certificate for a free track.

Most importantly of all - be creative and have fun.

And another thing. For all your Potter needs: http://www.mugglenet.com/

If it's any consolation to anyone who may be groaning loudly out there, I don't know anything about Harry Potter. Never read one book, or watched one movie. (I know, I'm probably the only one in the country - who cares).

Anything you say about Potter could be completely made up... and you won't be penalized for it,

See you at 1pm PST!

Yes!  The long wait is over!  My life was completely in SHAMBLES this past month, but now, the clouds are clearing!  O Happy Day!   ;D
By the way, I was being sarcastic.

WOOOHOOO!!!! I helped make the rules!!

PlayMSTie

Aargh! All right, that does it. I hereby propose a rule for the contest after this one:

"All questions must be as simple, straightforward, and uncomplicated as possible. Any question that shows signs of having taken longer than 15 seconds to compose will be automatically disqualified."

Man! I think we've finally reached the point where the questions will now be more complicated than Mike's riffs of the movie.  This is the prog-rock of 20 questions.  When will the punk-era begin??  ;D

torgosPizza

Oh come now. It's not THAT complicated... sure, you have to think about it a bit... but that's what makes it fun!

... Right??

PlayMSTie

Yeah, less fun for you!  ;D (That was in response to torgos; I tried to post at the same time as mrbasehart.) I'm not trying to be a crybaby, honest, but for those of us who aren't geniuses, don't type at 3,000,000 words per second, can't refresh the forum at the speed of lightning before six new replies are added, and are trying to work while doing this, the easier games are the only way we can participate.

I'm not trying to take away your fun. It's a great forum and you all do a great job. I'll just sit out this one and wait for the final answer, again. Maybe in the future a way will be discovered to make some of these games fun AND a little easier.
