Some Guy

Hi guys,

I'm new to the site and, basically, just wanted to say hi.

Sadly, I missed MST3K when it was on in its original run.  I'm doing my best to get caught up, now, and am really happy to find Mike and company here on rifftrax.  I just downloaded the Predator commentary and am buggering off to watch it.

Have a good one.

Yeah, welcome.
A tip for seeing MST3K- They have a lot of episodes of it on Youtube, in 10 minute incriments.

Meanwhile, enjoy Predator!

Oh, well thank you for that, man.  I appreciate it and hope to set down some on-line roots here.  Good to meet you and, again, thanks for the welcome.

Now, I'm off to watch Arnie kick some ass and listen to Mike kick Arnie's.

That's actually how I've been catching up with the MST3K experience, truth be told.  Just watched 'Touch of Satan' the other night and, basically, I'm still laughing over it.

There's something familiar about that name but I can't put my finger on it...

Is it that joke where the punchline is "Cream of Some Young Guy?"

Anyhoo, welcome to the forums, [Not Just] Some Guy.

Yeah but are you a gentle lover?

Gentle as Michael Jackson, but without the heavy musk of creepy.

By the way, the Predator comentary was absolutely priceless, if any of you haven't checked it out yet.  (Kind of pretensious, maybe, for a newbie to offer that sort of advice.)  My two favourite lines were: "Oh my God, he's going to give me a snuggie!" and "Didn't Kirk make gunpowder and kill this creature already?"

And thanks for the warm welcome.  It's much appreciated, and I plan to do some routing around this Caddyshack to do some proper posting soon.  (I'm doing the final edit of a novel, now, and it's taking much of my spare time.)

Are you Keegan?

No.  Grant's my name.

Anyhow, I just ordered MYT3K's Manos off Amazon, along with Plan 9 from Outer Space.  Plan 9 isn't an MST3K version, but it does have Nelson's audio commentary.  Looking very forward to seeing this shit, even though the Manos disk -- alas -- doesn't have Mike in there directly.  Hell, Joel was pretty good too.

Hey, even better than YouTube is Google Video.  I'm not sure if they're still there, but GV used to have full episodes of MST3K in...um...90-minute incriments.  I know GV has been cracking down, but since they own YouTube and that still has MST3K episodes, it might be worth a look.

Huzzah!  Good luck on that!  I haven't managed to write anything longer than 3,000 words.  My attention span was programmed for articles and essays, I think.
