If memory serves, I believe The Stuff originally came bubbling out of a hole in the floor of an ice cave.

I think your memory may be failing you there, grampa. I'll just have to dust off my cherished copy of The Stuff...

All right, you go ahead and do that, whipper-snapper.  Meanwhile, I'll be out drinking egg creams, jitterbugging, and tooling around town on my bicycle with the huge front wheel and tiny rear one.

You enter every room to Ragtime vamping, carrying a rattan cane, don't you?

Superman would be well pissed that his Fortress of Solitude was trashed...

RobtheBarbarian

Can't forget the Yeti, even if he is related to the Bumble.

Junkyard

Hey, come to think of it- Superman 2- He dropped Zod and his lackeys kind of ambigiously down somewhere in his fortress. So far as we know, he didn't kill them.
Add Zod, Ursa, and Non to the list!

Pak-Man

If we dip into the realm of comic books, there's tons more. Heck the Marvel Antarctic must be one unstoppable supervillain after another. One of the bigger comic fans can probably fill up the list, but I'll just chuck Omega Red out there for now. :^)

Junkyard

Comics, books, movies, musicals, Shakespearian plays, whatever.

Benvolio: Forsooth, what is that sound, which so resembles the bowels of darkest hades opening upon this frozen land?
Futrelio: Hark! It doth be much as you did announce it, a creature of continence most foul and warlike, with AAAAAARRRGGGHHH!!!!
Benvolio: Hark, Futrelio! It hath taken hold of mine cousin, and does with great violence dismemAAAAAAARRRRGGGHHHH!!!!

In other news, the producers, writers and director of The Day After Tomorrow were inadvertently freed from their Arctic prison by melting polar icecaps; astute readers will recall that they were placed there as punishment for their film's poor box-office performance.

Tragically, three rescue workers were crushed to death by falling irony.
"All I ask of you is one thing: please don't be cynical. I hate cynicism -- it's my least favorite quality and it doesn't lead anywhere.
Nobody in life gets exactly what they thought they were going to get. But if you work really hard and you're kind, amazing things will happen."

I can't recall ever seeing the word snootily before. Heehee. Snootily.

You know, the premise of "The Stuff" has always bothered me. I know that construction workers don't need PhD's, but who sees a foreign chemical bubbling out of a hole in the ground and decides to give it a taste? o.0

*suck* "Hey, we struck oil!"

"Hmm, magnesium phosphate!"

"Oh, so that's what lava tastes like!"

"I think we hit a vein of arsenous acid!"
Love doesn't hurt. It kills.

"Where there's smoke, there's a smoke-making machine."

Junkyard

By the way, I think Reptilicus was also found in a chunk of ice.

Fuzzy Necromancer

No. Reptilicus was dug out of the ground, and even then he was just a skeleton until he was ressurected by space-lightning.

You're thinking of a different giant lizard movie. A frozen chunk of Reptilicus was dug up somewhere in Denmark. The flesh thawed and regenerated the rest of its body, just like if you cut off a salamander's tail, the tail grows into a whole lizard.  ::)

Junkyard

Yeah, that's the one I'm thinking of.

.....

space lightning?
