Heh!

I did have second row tickets for a show they were supposed to play in Phoenix this month. The promoter cancelled the show last week. I am so bummed. DEVO is the number one band on my "I have to see before I die (or they die)" list.  They are playing a couple of days later in L.A. but get this.... my wife is having her birthday on that day! Can you believe that crap!!

SaucyRossy

Torso you should definately convince your wife to move her birthday to a more convient time for you.

As for Devo's tour...I wish they were coming over to the east coast! I want to see When in Rome reunited!

Devo rocks...

this gets spun about twice a month.

MrTorso

That is a great disc. I wish I had kept my Criterion Laserdisc though. The DVD is missing a video that they couldn't get the rights to.

Here's a shot of my setup.

For a slightly larger picture, go here: http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h310/kodiakthejuggler/RifftraxSetup-1.jpg

I use an old(VERY OLD!) Pioneer SX-3700 Receiver to power two small Paradigm Atom v.3 speakers(shown on the black speaker stands) to hear the Rifftrax. My brand new 80 Gig iPod(shown on top of the left main speaker) is connected to a DLO HomeDock Deluxe, which connects to the old(OLD!) Pioneer receiver for audio and to the Yamaha RX-V1300 Receiver(bottom component on rack at left) for video via S-Video cable(can only view music collection, not videos - just yet!). DVD Video(second component from bottom at left) via Toshiba SD-4700 DVD Video/Audio player. The TV is a 32" Quasar Direct View CRT(damn I want a Widescreen HD!!!). DVD Audio via Toshiba DVD player to Yamaha Receiver, then to main speakers: A Paradigm CC-120 Center Channel(above TV), two Krix Lyrix Gold main speakers(courtesy of Secrets of Home Theater and High Fidelity Online Magazine Forum Contest - I won them!!!), two Paradigm Cinema 90 surrounds(not pictured), and a Sylvania SL-1200 Powered 12" sub(cheap, but effective).

Other components include Panasonic SVHS VCR(Silver), and a Toshiba W717 VCR(black VCR, rarely used). The component on top is a Denon DP-26F Turntable(sometimes used, mostly for nostalgic effect  ;))

Toys and figurines include a talking Dr. Evil figure("I've been a frikkin' Evil Doctor for thirty frikkin' year, ok? Cut me some frikkin' slack!"), an Empire Strikes Back ATAT walker, The Argonath bookends(from LOTR: FOTR deluxe DVD set), The White City - Gondor sculpture(from LORT: ROTK deluxe DVD set), and the Batmobile(from Tim Burton's Batman). Seen hiding behind the right speaker stand(on top of the Sylvania sub) is the Gollum sculpture from LOTR: TTT deluxe DVD set. My Precioussssssss....

And here's my DVD collection, slowly building back to greatness...

Alphabetical.  Nice! Is Gallagher any good? I've never seen him.

kodiakthejuggler

Oh yeah, Gallagher is a trip. He's clever and fairly cerebral, and mostly talks about sex, in a 60s/70s sort of way. This DVD set was a cheap one that has plenty of material, so it's a huge bargain. The case sux, though.

Not only alphabetical, but in order of type, such as: Movie, TV, Music, Special Interest, etc.

;D

Updated original post. ^^^

I got an HD DVD player recently, and figured this thread could use a bump.
Heated Seats iRiffs: Touched by an Angel | Marked for Death | Runaway | Heated Shorts (shorts collection)

RVR II

A 'carry over'  from Mike Nelson's Ebay thread..

Here's my setup.. (Not for sale by the way..)

I removed the speaker covers for this pic.
I bought the 2 speakers (and the rest of the Cerwin Vega surround sound setup back when Independence Day (ID4) came out on VHS in 1996. They've served me well for the last 11 years!
Crazy note about the big screen: I bought this 46" projection TV the Very Hour that 9/11/01 happened right after my old 46" just died at 8:38 am EST! Freaky!

and here's a close-up of 1 of the 'Monoliths'..

Time to resurrect this thread...

with new stuff!!

I finally got that HDTV I've been pining for!! It's a 42" Philips LCD full 1080P TV, and my apartment building has an antenna built in, so all I had to do was switch the cable from the VCR to the TV and voilá!! I get ALL the local HD channels in pristine signal quality!

Gonna host a Super Bowl party on Sunday, to watch in HD 720P glory!!

Fortis

I like how you already have the Jurassic Park rifftrax picture pinned to your wall. Its a nice touch. Nice monitor by the way, oh, and RVR II, you should get those hi8 tapes transferred to dvd. Those are a dying breed my friend, and you should get them trasnferred before it is too late.

Just saving my spot for my home theater picture...

Bob

Hey, that new HD looks sharp.   You will NOT be disappointed...... sports look AWESOME on HD.

Here is my family room set up.    The TV is a 50 inch plasma, and you can see an old PS/2 lurking there, a pretty old Nakamichi receiver which is running like a champ, the "upconvert" DVD player (still waiting for the HD wars to be over), a basket of remotes that my cool Harmony 880 remote has made obosolete and a, very cool at the time, CD player that makes copes and plays MP3 burned on a CD (a big deal ten years ago!).

In my bedroom I have the 42 inch younger brother plasma and the panasonic home theater in a box that came with the TV.   The sharp eyed among you will see the baseball that my dog stole from my neighbor's kid and made into her own chew toy.

These are my DVD and what nots.   Have added some Rifftrax since this was taken.

RVR II

Damn PSL! Your DVD collection looks better than your entertainment system setup (The 50" looks sweeet though..)! :D :D :D
