With as much talent that Pixar has, I think their movies warrant a viewing before judgement is passed, no matter what the critics/haters say.

Personally, I've immensely enjoyed every single movie they've made, and their talent pool is second to none.

Sharktopus

Pixar's next movie could be Let's Watch Paint Dry featuring Carrot Top and Rob Schneider and I'd rush out to see it with high expectations.

Well... maybe not. But you get my point.

Their low points (IMHO) are Cars and Monsters Inc. Just didn't like them as much as the rest. But mostly, Pixar can pretty much do no wrong. They gained a TON of points right out of the gate with Toy Story and only increased it since. It will take them many years of leg whizzing to put themselves on the outs with the public.
Grapes? I hate grapes, I can't stand grapes. I loathe grapes. All kinds of grapes. I hate green grapes and I hate purple grapes. I hate grapes with seeds, I hate grapes without seeds. I hate them peeled and nonpeeled. I hate them in bunches, one at a time and in small groups of twos and threes.

Actually, I concur with you there - my least favorite of the Pixar releases is definitely Monster's Inc.

I don't know why, but John Goodman's voice acting has never appealed to me. He's totally amazing as Dan Connor in "Roseanne," and I grew up watching him on Nick at Night, but I've never fancied his voice acting =

That's not the reason why I don't like Monster's Inc. though - I think it's just cuz it's /so/ little-kid based that I couldn't get into it.

heh i like monsters inc a lot lol.  if i were to rank them it would go

incrredibles
toy story
cars/monsters inc
finding nemo
bugs life.

J-Proof

I put off seeing Bugs Life until a couple years after it was released cuz I was convinced it would suck, but after seeing it I thought it was pretty awesome. WAY better than Antz....

Oh man, no I'm not a hater at all, I just saw a few trailers and just went by the impression it gave me.

My friend went to Montreal for a huge Pixar Concept art gallery opening, it had original paintings by Lasseter and Bird and lots of rejected character developments for all kinds of movies.  She said it was the most amazing show ever.  (jeeaaaalous)
I'd really like to see the art from the Incredibles, there is a book of it out somewhere.

So is Ratatouille like a rodent Sabrina?

The only two Pixar films I've hated so far are is Monster Inc and Cars. Both where just really unfunny and stupid to me.
Global warming, where?

Pixar can do no wrong. Even when their movies are weak, they're better than anything Dreamworks and their ilk have ever churned out.

That said, Rats and Mice are among my favorite animals.
Chef is an occupation I would love to have persued in life.
I have some high hopes for this movie. :^)

My list:

1) Incredibles
2) Toy Story (2 and 1, in that order)
3) Finding Nemo (It FAR, FAR exceeded my expectations)
4) Cars
5) Bug's Life (This might have just been a timing thing. It was as if Antz and Bugs Life were stealing each other's thunder.)

Sharktopus

My list, since everybody else is jumping off the bridge:

1. The Incredibles
2. Finding Nemo
Over The Hedge (Not Pixar, but I love it.)
3. Toy Story
4. Toy Story 2
5. Cars
6. A Bug's Life
7. Monsters Inc.
...
100. Shrek (Haven't bothered to see the sequels.)

Of course, I haven't seen A Bug's Life in years. And although Monsters Inc comes in last, I still like it a lot. The worst Pixar film is still (Buzz) lightyears better than most family movies.

Went and saw Ratatouille today and I have to believe that will be picking up the Best Animated Oscar next spring.  Great voice work with nobody hitting you over the head with their "celebrity" voice.  I was very surprised to see Peter O'Toole listed as the critic's voice.   The payoff for the significance of the title was a beautiful moment, comparable to the best moments of The Iron Giant.    Brad Bird is earning the comparison to Miyazaki with every new film.
And the short was a hoot, too!

GregMcduck

Yes, Ratatouille was wonderful! I was totally suprised, given the weak commercials. It was both funny and touching, the visuals were breathtaking, the music was great, the voice-acting was perfect, it was just all around awesome.

For the record, my (updated) Pixar list:

1. Finding Nemo
2. Ratatouille
3. Toy Story
4. Monsters Inc.
5. Toy Story 2
6. The Incredibles
7. A Bug's Life
8. Cars

I have to agree with you on this one.  So far, its Surf's up, Shrek 3 and Meet the Robinsons.  I'm not even sure if there are any other strong contenders coming out in 2007.

As for Ratatouille, I saw it last night and thought it was just fantastic.  I can't wait to see what they do with Wall-E since it will probably end up in space.  Those pixar fellows rarely disappoint.
Anytime someone offers you 10,000 to 1 odds, you take it.
Lets just say if John Mellancamp ever wins an Oscar, I'll be a rich man.

Anyone also notice that the trailer for Bee Movie and the teaser for Wall-E both use the exact same piece of music (Central Services/The Office) from Brazil? Kinda funny, really.

The Simpsons movie may have something to say about that... :)
