Well, I'm enthusiastic about this upcoming Riff.

That movie, while pretty fun at times, made me cringe at a few parts. Err.... actually, several parts.
Alba stripping on the bridge,
Torch being ridiculously insensitive to Ben,
All the romantic parts,
and Reed "delivering the coup de gras" at the end of the big fight. (If you'd seen it, you'd know why it made me cringe.)

Anyone else excited?

Meh.  I just watched x-men and daredevil, and am feeling a little tired of superhero shtick.  I was kinda hoping for something a little more unexpected.

BathTub

Well you are in luck, there are around 28 other rifftrax you could have a listen to before FF! ;)

Those are old hat anyways. We can't be held responsible for the order in which you watch the tracks.   ;)

More potential movies on our list aren't comic adaptations so you will be in luck here... at some point...

...

Although i was very disappointed in the original Fantastic Four movie, i still kinda' wanted to see it again. Everytime Rifftrax does one of these movies it just gives me an excuse to buy the damned thing on DVD. If it wasn't for Rifftrax i probably would have never got around to buying Predator, Willy Wonka, Halloween, Top Gun... etc. They were pretty crappy films, but i've always kinda' liked 'em. Now i have an excuse to own 'em.

As for the superhero thing. Keep 'em coming... i'm looking forward to Ghost Rider myself.

Well I have to admit the first Fantastic 4 was better than I expected.  I was never a fan of the comics so I wasn't in a big hurry to see it.  I caught it on HBO and it wasn't to bad.

I was bieng threated with death by wolf raping before it was cool!.

Quick Q:

Is this Rifftrax gonna be for the Regular Edition of the F4 DVD or the Extended Edition?

I just got done watching it again. I didn't see it in the theater but got the DVD as an out of left field b-day gift (never been a comic fan, I think it was Mom's idea of reaching for something she'd figured I would like). Anyways, I liked it the first time I watched it and my opinion didn't change with this viewing.

The only part that really left me scratching my head was the aforementioned "Alba stripping on the bridge". Not because I mind seeing partially undressed Alba... but I just don't get what the benefit was to the plot... She had to sneak by or something... but did I miss that part? All of a sudden the whole team was together and she was getting dressed again... Yea, and the Torch did occasionally leap the fence from "cocky" to "prick" more than I remembered... and what the hell was the deal with the Doom mask? That was a gift for humanitarian efforts?!? Yikes!  But all in all, minor complaints.

Overall, it was a lot of fun. Things were just serious enough to where you bought into the whole concept... but didn't make the mistake of becoming some ostentatious two and a half hour plod. I never understood the general negative reaction this one got...

They actually had her get naked in public again in Rise of the Silver Surfer.  Must be in her contract.

I just remember laughing my ass off at how they handled Dr. Doom

Most of it was pretty solid, except for Mr. Fantastic's contribution. "I'll, uh, redirect the water to flow in the exact same direction the water was already spraying! I'm useful here, really!"

Sideswipe

Yeah, Mr. Fantastic is the Fantastic 4's Storm.  Only smarter.

Wooo Hoooo! IMHO both rifftrax and MST3K are at their best with sci-fi flicks. I do miss the b/w teen-exploitation movies from the MST3K days though.

Junkyard

Yeah. Imagine a 5th Element Host Segment, or for that matter, a Fantastic Four.

There's an actors' commentary on the theatrical cut (at least the one released with the extended version. I can't speak for the first DVD release.) with Gruffudd, Alba and Chiklis and Jessica mentions the scene where she undresses on the bridge as a late rewrite addition. As with the suggested nudity in the sequel, it seems like the production team is not above a certain leering sensibility but it's not like there is any way they can take it any further in a "unrated" version.  Maybe Alba's people will be more careful with her contracts if she really has a problem with these kinds of scenes.
At least it is a pleasant change from films like Knocked Up, where you might be waiting for a little female skin considering the R rating and general subject matter, but except for the movie clips the guys are watching to research their website the only nudity on screen is Rogen's ass.
