But I still wonder why?.......because he's there?

I knew we'd have to have this talk some day.  You see, when a mommy Travolta and a daddy Travolta love each other very much ...

Yeah, I can believe that Travolta spawns asexually

BBQ Platypus

Why is John Travolta?  Two words, mon ami: Pulp Fiction.

Yeah, Get Shorty was good, but Pulp Fiction is Travolta's sole raison d'etre.

(Wow.  A whopping TWO phrases in French.  I think I've more than filled my multiculturalism quota for today.  From this point on, it's gonna be all ignorant American, all the time for ol' BBQ).
Correction: the coat hanger should be upside down.

macleod

Well, my French amigo...I think Pulp Fiction kept the Travolta going longer than it should have,

But on the other hand, it did give us Samuel L. Jackson, for better or for worse

I must say that anyone who makes Lucas' prop-making lackeys engrave "BMF" on his *purple-bladed* lightsaber is one ballsy mo-fo in my book. Not to mention anyone who can make something as silly as the premise of Snakes on a Plane entertaining in any way has a certain . . . I don't know what.

Pulp Fiction and it's retarded cousin Get Shorty

What a beautiful turn of phrase. :D

QuoteHonestly, the only Scientologist I really regret is Beck.

I likes me some Beck, myself, but I've wondered why a life-long Scientologist mentions God and Jesus so often in his music. Then again, I have a Jewish neighbor who regularly uses "Jesus Christ!" as an exclamation...

Because without him, Kelly Preston would have been brainwashed by someone else...like Moby (eek!)

Wait, Moby is scientologist? Say it ain't so. And yes, even though it's "cool" to make fun of him, I like Moby.

Many years ago I made a conscious decision to try to avoid movies with John Travolta in them, and thus far I have been mostly successful, and not regretted the decision.

The few exceptions: Battlefield Earth, I mean, c'mon, how could I NOT watch it?
Austin Powers in Goldmember, which I thought was his best acting role ever
Michael, mostly because my parents rented it and there was nothing to do other than watch it

And that's about it.  I've watched all of Look Who's Talking, but not all in one sitting.  And I've never made it all the way through Grease without wanting to vomit.  (Although I do like the stage version.  Go figure.)

i dont beleive moby is a scientologist, most of his essays in his cds seem to infer he is some sort of liberal christian.

That's what I thought. There was even an article about him in a Christian satire magazine I get. But you never know who thery're going to bamboozle next. They already have Beck and Isaac Hayes, after all.

I hope you guys aren't serious about these jabs at John. He's a real sweetheart of a person, you know. Please don't judge his acting by this movie, they were all obviously just goofing around having a good time with this silly movie. Go watch Saturday Night Fever, and a few episodes of Welcome Back Kotter and you'll understand why he's so well loved.

bettertomorrowamy

I hope your not serious:  examples:  "Look Who's Talking", "Look Who's Talking Too", "Face Off", "Broken Arrow", etc...

He was good in Pulp Fiction because it was a small part.  He is a not a good lead actor.

more importantly scientology is absurd and deserves to be mocked.  and misspelled if i have anything to do with it.
