With Bridget Nelson, Mary Jo Pehl

Dr. Bill Cortner has been busy defying the medical community's cautions by unsuccessfully trying to transplant stolen limbs onto his lab assistant.

On a weekend getaway he drives too fast, rolls his convertible and decapitates his girlfriend Jan. As luck would have it he is able to wrap her head in his sportcoat, jog back to the lab and keep it alive in a shallow sauce pan. Now all he has to do is troll nightclubs and find her a new body!

Most girls would be grateful - but not Jan! She does nothing but complain, nag and make everything about her! She thinks Dr. Bill is "unethical" and eventually convinces the closet mutant to turn against him and help her by saying, "I'm only a head, and you're whatever you are. Together we're strong. More powerful than any of them!"

It's enough to make you question Science!

Not gonna make my list of favorite Mary Jo and Bridget riffs, but still enjoyed it. And if we're going to continue to get re-riffs, I'd rather they be re-riffs by the ladies as opposed to the guys.

It was okay.  I never get excited about re-riffs.  There are so many options out there, so why revisit the same old wells?

At any rate, did Bill Nye the Mad Scientist Guy think his plan through?  Jan in the Pan hated him for imprisoning her in this headless existence.  If his plan somehow succeeded, she would hate him even more for murdering that other girl.  How did he think she would react?  At the very least, it seems like she would have gone straight to the police.

And why didn't he just kill his closet monster?  He clearly had no moral compunctions with murder if it were necessary.  Mary Jo's joke comparing the monster to Apple product packaging was a perfect mockery of this.

And I feel so bad for the girl he almost killed.  First one man leaves her with a permanently disfiguring scar.  Then, when she FINALLY lets her guard down, a different man tries to kill her.  Maybe, after all this, she should try being a lesbian.
I'm not particularly religious, and I don't really like Muppets, but I do love word play.

Disappointed that this is missing the scene where the girl is posing for the photographers.   What's up with that??

Just got around to watching this one.

What an incredible print! It looks so much better than many of the riffed films that have been shot 'now' as opposed to 60 years ago.
