I've been thinking of getting a pizza stone. Do you slide the pizza on to the stone?  Or do you put the stone at the bottom of the oven and put the pizza on the oven rack?

Yes, you put the pizza or loaf of bread directly on the stone after heating it up.  The stone is to simulate how dough would cook in a brick oven.

The other method is to get a thick steel plate and put it under the broiler to get it very hot, then put thin pizza on the steel and back under the broiler and it cooks in a few minutes.  This is to simulate at home the NY or New Haven style pizza that is cooked in very hot (over 700°F) ovens.

Haven't had a problem with sticking on the stone or paddle thanks to the use of corn meal, but haven't been heating stone at 500 degrees. Will give that a try next time.

I have been watching a lot of videos of sovereign citizen types getting pulled over for minor traffic infractions, and escalating them into huge fines and arrests.  I think this practice is bad luck because on Tuesday I got caught speeding for the first time in 12 years.  Luckily the officer let me off with a written warning.

So you didn't practice what you learned...

Pre-heating piizza stone at 500 vs 425 I was doing made a big difference.

Woke up in the middle of the night to see my cat relaxing like Goldblum.

Hoping I got a Walmart employee fired today. Walmart store shoppers at nearby Walmart are always rude. Elderly lady today had cart rammed by Walmart store shopper in front of me, blue bin fell, and Walmart employee threw package of pasta that fell at elderly woman in anger even though it was his fault. I jumped in between, cslled employee an asshole and caused enough of a scene that supervisor showed up. I told supervisor what happended and to look at video of what happened and employee escorted away

Man, the price of sata 3 ssds is way, way down from when I last bought one. Was shopping for m.3 drive for my laptop when $25 512gb crucial sata 3 popped up. 1tb only $15 more. What the hell, bought the 1tb to replace the 120gb ssd that came with my $100 chinese made mini htpc. Didn't really need the extra internal storage as all my media files are on 2 external drives so probably should have gone with the 512, but system defintely snappier with the new internal sata 3.

Not really riffing, but recently discovered Found Footage Festival. Basically comments and bits around parts of really obscure VHS tapes along with releasing to a bigger audience some of the worst lower than low budget movies that were previously only released on a limited regional basis.. Bought a few of their releases and then subbed and downloaded everything from their streaming channel. Lots still to watch, but most entertained I've been in awhile. 2 dudes went to college in Wisconsin and their annual Film Festival tour typically hits Madison and Milwuakee every year. Bummed I can't go to the Madison show in a couple of weeks due to covering for someone who will be on vacation at work.

Got wife an air popper. Old one died years and years ago. Made air popped popcorn tonight with melted unsalted butter and didn't salt it. Wow. Not "wow" because I liked it better than the typical crunky salty popcorn I'm used to, but "wow" because it was so different. Tastes like toasted corn. Still prefer it salted but was good as something different

I get most of my supplies for my cats through automated recurring orders from Chewy.com.  It's hugely convenient.  I get treats, catnip, catnip spray, cat litter, and cat box deodorizer powder sent monthly without having to think about it.  It's very convenient, but they notify me way too much.  I get notified when:

* The next order is coming up.
* The order has been placed.
* The order has shipped.
* The order is arriving today.
* The order has arrived.

I also get coffee pods auto-shipped from Keurig once a month.  They do the same thing, except that when it is actually delivered I get notified by 3 different services.

Was getting our canned dog food through Amazon auto order. Stopped when prices of the brand we've been feeding them rose 150% over last year. Tried Chewy - 4 orders and never got a single order that wasn't 25% or more damaged. Chewy was great about refunding for the damages - no questions - no pictiures - just emailed complaint and received refund  but got tired of washing cans due to being covered with food from the burst open damaged cans.

Sorry to hear that.  Messes like that are emotionally, and time-wise, more costly than a few extra bucks.

Curious: were the boxes dented?  Or was it quite cold or hot along the shipping path?  I ask, because when I had a cat, Chewy-shipped canned foods always arrived in great shape.  If not, I wonder what changed with them?

Boxes all appeared fine. Problem seemed to be caused by putting 12 can cases in a box that was too large with zero bubble wrap or othet packing material.

Oh, yeah... that'll do it!  Wonder WTF they were thinking doing that?
