Escape from the Bronx
Feature film · 2022

The government is clearing out the Bronx, promising people a better future in enchanting New Mexico. But there’s something about the way those goons are roasting innocent citizens with flamethrower…

With Mike Nelson, Kevin Murphy, Bill Corbett

When RiffTrax last paid a visit to the Bronx, it was a festering heap of violence, filth, and burning barrels. And now they're saying we have to leave???

The government is clearing out the Bronx, promising people a better future in enchanting New Mexico. But there's something about the way those goons are roasting innocent citizens with flamethrowers that seems a little untrustworthy...

Fortunately some brave souls have gathered in the sewer to amass explosives while dressing as Xanadu background dancers. They are led by Trash, and not in the sense that the Twisted Brown Tucker Band is led by Kid Rock. This is an actual guy named Trash, and he was radicalized when gentrification turned his favorite bodega into a Banana Republic. Oh, and also when goons roasted his parents with flamethrowers.

Can Trash fight off a Bronx full of rival gangs, death squads, worst of all, Red Sox fans in town for a four game series? Find out when Mike, Kevin, and Bill RIFF THE BRONX!

Written by: Mike Nelson, Conor Lastowka, and Sean Thomason

Is the well that dry?

They do these re-riffs of stuff they did on MST3K.  I'm not a fan.
I'm not particularly religious, and I don't really like Muppets, but I do love word play.

Add it to the pile:

I generally agree, but there are a few that I've actually liked better than the original (Time Chasers and Manos, for example).

I like the re-riffs more often than not. Zombie Nightmare is great and the clean print really changes the whole tone, Merlin's Shop might actually surpass the original (And I LOVE the original).

It depends on the movie and quality of the Riffs. Magic Sword I was leery about, but loved it. Also Merlins. Manos, not really, even if Mike riffing it is new. But the others I've passed on since, like many, I'd rather have an entirely new one than a reriff. Especially if its one I rewatched not all that long ago, like this one.

So yeah, I'd rather see newer ones overall, and reRiffs space out farther apart.

Only re-riffs I'd really like to see are re-riffs of some of the KTMA movies that didn't get re-riffed on the Comedy Channel/Central.

A lot of the first seasons ones were pretty lacking since the guys were still learning this groundbreaking craft. Better than the KTMA stuff, but not up to later levels either.

Merlin's Shop was a missed opportunity.  It would have been a great chance to riff "The Devil's Gift", which was the original movie they had used for the 2nd half of Merlin.

With this one, it was further dragged down because they had also done a Rifftrax of the prequel to this movie.  And both movies are just really boring.  It's a lot of running around ruined buildings and shooting at people.

I think Season One would be fine too. I would really like to see MJ and B take a shot at Robot Monster.

My dream re-riff is the full uncut Mitchell.
