Yeah, Child Actors crashed and burned and nobody really felt up to picking up the torch. I'm gonna leave a standing offer here for anyone who has the time and inclination to just DO one, and we can see where it goes from there. I might even do it myself at some point but it could be a while before my schedule clears up.

Looking back through the last LoC, George 2.0 reluctantly took over LoC 130 after F-0 bailed and that was pretty much it.
I wouldn't be able to host due to my schedule working at the post office but would probably participate depending on the topic

  Last topic I voted for was the top BBC shows that I think lost to child stars, things are a bit busy right now but maybe at the end of the month I'll just do that topic and see if anyone submits any lists.

What happened was hat I mentioned I had forgotten to add Chloe Grace Moretz to my list because she was one of those child actresses who was sexualized at a young age and George 2.0  decided what I meant was that I found 13 year old girls sexy. And when I tried to clarify that Moretz not only looked and acted like she was in her late teens/early 20s  when she was still in her mid teens, but that movie studios and magazines willingly sexualized her, the topic was locked, then all the posts about her being sexy at a young age were deleted by the moderator. But just to show you I am not making this up, this is her at 14:

Also, I had mentioned she was sexually attractive in an episode of 30 Rock, to which George 2.0 mentioned she was only 14 when the episode was shot. I double checked, and her character appeared on the series in three consecutive years, and the synopsis that matched the episode I remembered her acting sexy in, she would have been 17 when it was shot.  So no, I did not find an actress who looked like a minor sexy. I found an actress who looked like she was in her late teens slightly sexy, and felt uncomfortable at the time because I was unsure of her age.

As the LoC host,  George 2.0 was suppose to post a thread asking for submissions for the next LoC, then post a poll, at which his hosting duties would have concluded. Instead, he said he was too upset at what he assumed I was saying and was going to take a brief break. At which we are still waiting for a poll to be posted.

BTW, this could all have been avoided if the cut off age for child celebrities was 12.  As much as you guys want to believe that girls do not become sexually attractive until the day they hit the age of consent in their state, they are capable of being sexy earlier than that. Kelly Bundy, T.a.t.U., Traci Lords and most of the actresses from the Disney Channel  are reminders of that.

You went on about hit-girl being attractive, she did not look like late teens/early 20s when she played hit-girl, she looked 12.  Maybe she did in kick-ass 2 but I've never seen that.

Actually, I didn't go on about finding Hit-Girl attractive. This is what I said:

What would a LOC be without someone on the list you completely forgot about and should have had on your list.  I would have had Chloë Grace Moretz on my list had I not forgotten she existed. Perhaps I overlooked her because her performances were very mature, like she was in her early 20s wen she was between the ages of 14 and 17. Also, she was sexually attractive in many of her early roles, which something you would rather not be feeling when watching a minor. I would not be surprised if it was announced she had lied about her age to get parts meant for child actors, and was actually around 18 when she did 30 Rock and Kick-Ass. So it is no wonder I didn't think of Hit Girl when I was compiling my list.

The first Kick-Ass film was one of the few where she played a character that was age appropriate. She played Hit-Girl as a 10 year old ( albeit, an extremely violent ten year old. ) I never thought she was sexualized in the first film.

But as for the sequel.. she played the character as a lot older. this due to the "Mean Girls" rip off sub plot that sidelined the hit-girl character up until the finale.  See for yourself in this short featurette:

Yikes indeed. I came in here to look up something on the Twilight Zone LOC, and find this is still going on. I have to tell you, it breaks my heart.

I see all the classics at play here... deflection, denial, justification (look, see that movie poster does it) recontextualization (I didn't mean the first Hit Girl or the first appearance on 30 Rock), shifting blame (it could have been avoided if the cut off age was 12)

What I don't see is accountability.

It could have been avoided had you not posted something inappropriate, and when asked to change that post, you had done so, instead of digging in deeper.

So you apparently knew it was not right, yet you refused to change the OP, and say, I'm sorry I was wrong. No excuses, no deflection, no shifting blame. The bottom line is that this comment....

I checked IMDb and she was 15 an up when she was on 30 Rock.  I don't think I was ever attracted to a girl younger than that age

Did not belong in a thread about young actors. It was not appropriate, in any way shape, or form.

Everyone else understood, without being told, that we would not sexualize a child, a youth, whatever. I don't care what the media does, I cared about what WE DID, I made every attempt to make those posts and those pictures as vanilla as possible, to make the thread a safe place.

You were wrong to bring sexual attractiveness into that LOC. And you're wrong to keep trying to justify it.

As for a return to LOCs - I can't see myself hosting again, the wind's gone out of my sails. Still, Noir was a blast. I'll always have good memories of that one, my last 'true' LOC.

I might be persuaded to contribute a list if someone else hosted, though honestly, I think its days are past. We've lost so many LOC regulars, from Anais to Johnny Unusual to linszoid, and now I see CJones is gone (when did that happen)?

I wrote several older members when I did Noir in hopes of generating interest and getting some of the old gang back together, but I didn't hear from most of them. They moved on.

The inferno got him.  Couldn't deal with the people that would rather see snow white stay dead than endure a peck on the lips.  Because since she was dead she couldn't give consent, doesn't matter that she was dead and couldn't feel it, all that matters is that it was a non-consensual kiss so that movie should be banned. 

I guess if facebook crashes and burns this place might come back to life someday?  All the niche forums like this seem to be going dead, the couple of times I've been on the new MST3K forum that seems to be doing well, but could be just because it's been promoted in the kickstarter updates.
