This is what members voted for, this is the lists they have worked on, and it's unfair to suddenly tell them, nope, I'm doing the switcheroo.

So, let's reload with a new narrative and a theme song. Just to put a more positive, upbeat spin on the subject.

Purpose: We're here to set the lens on talented youth, funny youth, inspiring youth, or "Yutes" if your Vinny.

Age Range: 0 to 17: You're voting for the work they did within that age bracket. So if your thinking "I loved Jodie Foster in Silence of the Lambs", that's great, but for the intention of the list, you need to vote for her based on Freaky Friday... or any work Jodie Foster did from 1962 to 1979.

Skill Set: Acting, Music, Sports, Science, Vaudeville or Theater, Radio, Literature, Humanitarian... any kid who made a name for himself being the best at what they do, counts. Hell, a famous wiz-kid game show contestant would count.

How About Groups? Yes, duos, trios (The Gumm Sisters for example), groups like "Our Gang" or a boy band can be collected under one entry. But as Stethacantus did with the Slapstick LoC, you need to specify that. If you name the actors who played Spanky and Alfalfa, they would count as their own, separate entry, apart from those who name "Our Gang/The Little Rascals".

How, What, Why? Send me a list, via PM, of 25 - based on cultural significance, talent, importance, or compiled of favorites... from your youth (what kid did you like when you were a kid) and today. #1 is your top choice, on down to 25 (your least favorite)

Partial lists are welcome, though points will be adjusted.

When? Get me a list by Tuesday, March 23rd

Thanks.

Oh and this LoC is for real, not fictional kids. (sorry Timmy Bobby Rusty fans)

Here's a "did you know"? In looking over skills other than acting, I learned that Robert Easton was a "Quiz Kid" and that he toured the country in 1945 with the cast of other Quiz Kids "child prodigies"

Yes, that Robert Easton...

No information on whether he did the tour wearing stained, red underwear.

Child prodigy's count, so like, if your a Blase Pascal fanboy, you can include him.

Here's a list of 31 you can look over... https://247wallst.com/special-report/2020/01/24/31-famous-child-prodigies/2/

Thanks again George. I've stickied this thread & locked the old 130 thread 8)

I sent PMs to RVR II, Edward Grug and Pak-Man specifically requesting they delete the old LoC 130 thread I explained why I wanted to bow out and that it not be shared with everyone.

AFTER these PMs RVR II demanded I explain myself and locked the thread.  Yeah, he really did that after I sent the PMs.  Don't believe me ask the other moderators.  I didn't save a copy of my sent PMs so I don't have a screenshot.

By the way I apologized and offered to host a different topic.  This was just a one or two day delay of the LoC.  Not a big deal.
Never 'demanded' you explain yourself.. I said you should because you left others in a precarious situation.
Stop beating a dead horse in this new thread and move on by submitting your own list or not.

Well, whatever.  I withdraw my complaint.

The bottom line is that we had a vote, a topic won, and when a topic wins, people naturally expect they'll be compiling lists for that winning topic. A host bowed out, and another host took his place to ensure that voters get what they voted for.

I was sent a message asking what happened, and that's about it. Same topic, new host. And now we can move on from that and get back to the lists, right?

Speaking of which, I have received 2, with mine that brings us to 3. It's a curious mix of eras and talents and whatnot. One thing that stood out, and I'll only hint at it, but I was reading how a certain miniseries has sparked renewed interest in a certain activity. I wonder if a couple of entries are reflective of that? If they make the 50 I'll clarify.

Looking forward to more lists, as this one could prove a bit unpredictable, which could be fun if that holds true. And no rush, take your time, study if you need it.

Peace

MartyS (Gromit)

Hadn't thought about prodigies, added a few to my big list.

I also did some searching for youngest Olympic gold medalists and added a few of those.

But that means now I'm up to 50 so half of them have to be removed.

Actually no, you were rude to me for no reason at all.

I'd like to see you apologize to me in front of everyone.

I simply and soberly explained the situation, I was no more rude to you than RVR II was demanding explanations. Your concocting insults where none exist. Stop acting like your injured party here, and stay ON TOPIC, or do I have to ask a moderator to intercede?

Edward J Grug III

OK, just so everyone knows, F-Zero is the same dumbass who has spent years popping up pretending to be a normal person for as long as he can and then trying to upset everyone.

He is now banned, again.

The list of child stars was almost certainly going to be a nightmare. He quit because he was worried about the 'wokeness' backlash he would receive.
FINE

Charles Castle

That explains things, here and elsewhere.
You know, if the space man puma thing turns out to be the correct religion, I for one will be very surprised.

Thank goodness, now I can work on this thing in peace. And that was the big secret reason that he couldn't dare share with the rest of us?

For a palate cleanser to all this drama, I'll risk the backlash and leave you with a clip of Akim Camara...

RVR II

Man I truly hate that I slept through this :o
He sent me a similar message like Edward's and I didn't respond. I had been tracking him for some time and he was teetering on being perma-banned but after his 14 month hiatus, he decided to test the waters once again it seems.
What a goof :D :D
Anyway, on with the LoC 8)

I'm a huge procrastinator, but you'll definitely get a list from me by the deadline.
