You know what?  Forget it.  Sorry.

Just to be clear, it's not their current age that matters, but their age when they made so-and-so movie or TV show, right? Shirley Temple started acting when she was 3, but currently she's 92 and dead.

Yeah, it was kind of creepy searching for child stars. Made even creepier when you see how some of them were sexualized at a young age, like Brooke Shields.

As I said in the other thread, mine will include performers based on their talent and cultural significance. Because I'm not sure I really have 25 favorites.

So groups count as one, cool, that'll free up space for all the individual kids I had on my long list, from a famous group that I enjoyed watching when I was a lad -- and that's another consideration...

When I was younger, someone like Scout Finch was cool, she was around my age when I first saw the movie, and I'm going to try to think of what kids I liked when I was a kid.

I had to look up cast lists for some, the "by decade" link also helped.  Got a big list of about 40 to sort down.

Still unclear if recording artists qualify.  Off the top of my head I can think of a dozen singers who had top ten hits before they were 17.

First line of the rules includes music and sports and politics.

I did think of some but didn't bother putting them on my big list since they wouldn't make it into my top 25.

Not sure how I missed the poll for this one, but I'm happy to participate.

I completely misread that first line, and thought it read musicals , sports films and political films.

I got 25 including one child star that was am 80s sex symbol while still a minor. Holding off on sending it in just in case I think of someone else I forgot.

I hate to say this, but I don't think I can come up with a list this time. The subject is just way too far out of my comfort zone for a variety of reasons. The most important one though is that I don't really take famous kids seriously until they get older and demonstrate their acting chops as adults, such as Leo Dicap, Elizabeth Olsen, and so on. I also would have NO idea how to rank them because to me... actors are never that great when they are kids anyway.

I apologize F-zero.

No worries.  You might consider the links I just posted about literature and politics/world.  There's some inspirational choices there.

Thanks for the additional links F-Zero, made for some interesting (and sometimes sad) reading

I have a list, just trying to figure out how to order it. What priority do I place on the entries (favorites vs. cultural significance? I mean, if you're looking at who was the biggest child star, I believe #1 is obvious, however, there were others I liked more... when I was growing up in the 60s I know who I liked better back then and I know who I admire today)

One name I'm not seeing on (m)any lists, even the silent era ones (that don't seem to be looking at the world stage) is Jean Forest. A boy actor from France who displayed a range equal to any adult, his work in Visages d'enfants was impressive. Not saying, "Watch it! Put him on your list!" (that wouldn't work anyway, I mean I couldn't even convince folks to watch 1 classic noir)  ;) just saying, some of these youngsters had mad skills, even beyond Hollywood. And looking over those lists, that extends beyond acting, singing, etc, as well.

Should have a list for you soon.

It has been brought to my and other Mods attention that F-Zero no longer wants to host the LoC. Not sure what to do in a situation like this but he wanted us to delete the thread as a result. I think F-Zero should post an explanation first before it's deleted/locked but if not then I leave it up to you all as to what to do and how to proceed on.

George-2.0

well that's unfortunate, but why? We go from a forum wide request for lists, to a request to delete the thread. What happened?

I don't have the energy to host another, or I'd consider taking over. I don't know what to do here. But if he wont host, he wont host.

Also - F-Zero was the only one who submitted a list, so I guess we stick a fork in the LoCs as a regular thing for the time being? Maybe a topic request can be posted at a later date and see what happens there.

You know what, screw it, I'll host it

People voted for it, they are making up lists, so I'll step up. Not saying it'll be pretty, it'll just be pictures and a brief write-up,  but I'll do it. Unless anyone objects, we can unsticky this one, and I'll post a fresh new rules and deadlines post when I wake up.

I'll check in after I get some sleep and see what y'all have to say.

RVR II

Unstickied.
Thanks George, feel free to start a new thread.
