I never watched this show before, when I took my Anatomy and Physiology classes, everybody in there seemed to love that show.  I am looking forward to a rifftrax with Mike AND his Wife! I think the last time we heard or saw Bridget was when she was Flavia in those MST3K host segments throughout Prince of space, Devil Doll and Space Mutiny. It'll be great to hear her riffing with Mike. Now all we need is a Rifftrax with Mike, Bridget and Mary Jo! ;D

Don't forget Nuvina, woman of the future! And I believe it's Grey's Anatomy with an e. And if your anatomy and physiology classes loved that show, then I must ask: Where the hell did you go to school?!

RobtheBarbarian

Either way, I won't be able to stomach this. I'd rather chug bleach that willingly watch this show even with Rifftrax.

Bob

Dorian Gray or Zane Grey, either way, I think this is going to rock.

It's cool. Happens to the best of us. That's why there is a modify button. ;)

The show is Grey's.  The famous A&P text is "Gray's"  . . . both are named after a person and not the color.

And I've actually heard med students quote treatments they saw on Grey's (and not in Gray's  ;) ).  I remember once I was on a cardiology ward and the doc asked the students how you would stop a heart long enough to operate on it.  This one student chimed in, "I just saw this on Grey's" and described a bypass machine.  The attending actually nodded and said that would be one way.  Then he asked me directly what pharmacy thought we should do.  I snarked, "If it were on House, we'd ice the patient down to put them into hypothermia and stop the heart."  He seriously looked at me and said something to the effect of, "You shouldn't trust House with your medical decisions.  House always has extreme and complicated patients. Ice really isn't a good choice."  I guess he couldn't tell the snark in my voice.  I felt like an idiot :)

On the other hand, he never said TELEVISION SHOULDN'T BE TEACHING MEDICAL SCHOOLS.  He said House had extreme patients...which makes me even more sad.  Maybe I should base my medical decisions on ER or Scrubs.

I used to frequent a student health professionals bulletin board (had sections for medical, pharmacy, etc) and they actually had a thread about studying using Grey's once.  It's true.  These people could hold your heart in their hands one day...literally.  I always assumed they were medical student wannabes just pretending to be all cool but since I met actual medical students who quoted it on rounds, I wonder.

You know, whether the answer is right or wrong... i would NEVER say "Oh, I know, I just saw this on Gary's anatomy!"(Yes I spelled it wrong on purpose). I would however love to prescribe some MAO inhibitors to beginning med students who LOVE cheese  >:D

You shouldn't trust House with your medical decisions.  HAH :D You should trust Dr. McDreamy with not only your medical decisions, but your sexual decisions as well.  :D

Dim of the Yard

My sister is studying to be a nurse, and she is completely obsessed with Grey's Anatomy.  Just yesterday, I was out with my sister and my grandmother, and the two of them were talking about the show.  My sister, especially, she mentioned that there were a number of episodes that made her cry.  It's a little sad to watch her gush about the show.  She's really passionate about the whole thing, and she's got this fanaticism about the ordeal that not even I have for Rifftrax.  It's kind of scary.

I haven't seen an episode of Grey's, since I'm not into the whole "medical field" thinger and I consider much of television today to be a waste of my time, but I think my sister might want to convert me.  She's already played a few episodes of 'How I Met Your Mother' for me after I told her about Neil Patrick Harris taking part in one of the Rifftrax.  (Although I'm not complaining about that one.)  She's also looking to get me to buy her a copy of season two of Grey's.  (With any luck, she'll pay me back for this.)  Although she might not take it too well when I tell her about this upcoming Rifftrax.

And Amanda?  That's a pretty depressing story right there.  I think I might have read something very much akin to that somewhere on this newfangled Internet thing.  (If not that same story.  Who knows?  It's a big Internet.)

AmandaGal

I think I've posted that story here in reference to House somewhere :)  I don't have many stories.  I need to repeat them!

I would have saved it had I known Grey's was coming up.  It seemed fitting though, seeing as how his A&P class raves about it.

Yeah, I don't think I can deal with this one. So many bad movies out there... and we get a painfully trite "hip" modern tv show (ok I admit, I've only seen previews). Not to sound ungrateful or what have you, but I think I'm gonna let this one pass me by.
I know you are but what am I

I'm extremely surprised at the reaction to this show being riffed.  It's really not that bad, people.  It's just a soap opera.  I've sat in on a few episodes when my girlfriend is watching it, and while it's overly-melodramatic, it's got some decent actors and writing.  It is not a "good" show, but it is entirely watchable....I don't see why any one would skip this track.

Yeah recently, it seems like no matter what gets picked someone has to whinge about it...or say what Mike should have picked instead..

AmandaGal

I'm going to watch it even though I hate it with a passion.  I think I hate it so much because I'm a girl and when I say to other girls that I don't watch it's like suddenly I'm not part of the secret girl club and they try to convince me it's great so I can get my membership card back.

There's plenty of trite TV.  However, I've never been told I like something as much as Grey's.  I really don't like it, no matter how much they protest that I do.  It's not just one friend or group of friends either.  The girls I used to work with were passing around a box set and when I said I didn't like it it was more, "You would if..."  At school, I've been invited to "Grey's Night" more than once by more than one group of friends because "If you watched it with us, you'd love it.  You just need us to explain all the relationship to you."  Not really.  What I've seen isn't rocket science.  I figured it out.  I'm not a retard.  I just don' t care.  It's like they don't accept that anyone could possibly not like the show.

And now, in essence, Mike Nelson is telling me, "Watch Grey's! Just buy the box set.  You'll love it." I just hope he doesn't cry and tell me how much he wishes the two characters would just realize how much they love each other.  Slippers and a man purse don't make you part of the girl club, bubba!  You can't kick me out too :D
