Ghostwriter question

[F-Zero]

I have a question about the movie Ghostwriter starring Remington Steele and Obi Wan Kenobi.

As we all know the big secret suprise ending is the code left in the first word of each chapter of the book "Lang's wife Ruth was recruited as a CIA agent by Professor Paul Emmett of Harvard University."

I wonder if publishing companies perform some kind of cryptographic analysis to prevent such an occurrence in real life? I know google is my friend but he's been a snippy bitch lately.
