Edward J Grug III

Post discussions of season 12 episode 3 here. Title and first post to be edited to allow people to discover the episodes for themselves.
FINE

I'm up to this episode.  It's pretty bad when this might be the best of the three movies I've seen this season.  Very bad.  Good episode, though.

BathTub

Yep, solid episode all round. Not the best one. Really feel they allowed themselves enough time to do the production right this time.

This is our favourite episode so far - and I really thought Mac and me would be hard to top

Not going to lie, as bad as the movie was, the manta ray creatures are MUCH more charming than MAC (not a fan of Me, either).

Damn. And I thought Deep Star Six was terrible (okay, it was). I'm also assuming the guy who wrote 'Abyss' sold the same script to two studios? The jokes were a bit more on for this than Atlantic Rim, which was also decent. They do seem to be getting better with their timing than the first season.

I actually enjoyed this one the least of the first three. The riffing was good but man was the movie rough at many points.

Iron Curtain

I thought the riffing was the most natural of all of the first three episodes of the first half, but the movie was a slog to get through.

The love interest of the female scientist from Three's Company reminded me of someone and I couldn't for the life of me remember who until I watched it a second time. He delivers all of his lines like the cops from Idiocracy:

Solid riff of a tedious Cormanesque movie (you'd think he directed it himself)

In fact, they went surprisingly easy on him when he made his cameo. I expected years of pent up invective. Did they even riff it was him?

I'm really enjoying the singing and musical numbers this season. As a psych fan I really enjoyed the sitar parody.

So the lady scientist was wrong to want to befriend the aliens, right? Just like in the original Thing? The woman is wrong, the men are all right and get to be together in the goopy place. The subtext is about as subtle as Absolution's.

We couldn't make it through this one on the first try (kept falling asleep). We moved on to 1204, but will try again when we finish the season.
