Well. it seems I started a shit storm here....so I will clarify.  I met the CT crew at Crimanal Records in Atlanta for a Q&A .  Joel made several references to him being pissed about the lines such as "MST3K meets Jaws" for example from Rifftrax.  He also said that Mike was "just an employee of MST3K and had no right to use the MST3K moniker. 

But when advertising says "it's A meets B" it doesn't mean the specific things, it describes similar elements that give you an idea of what a product is.

I also talked to Mary jo and and her husaband......Mary jo said about RT....they are my friends.....I spoke to Team RAD (i know his name by I don't want it posted unless he says ok) that there is a problem and that he would not expect crossovers for quite a while......that is what I know.

But what about Trace? And Frank?

to answer your question, they let Joel answer.......Joel is the creator of MST3K......so he spoke to it.....I have no information if he is pissed at Kevin or Bill.  But Trace, Frank, Mary Jo, and Josh said nothing about RT......but josh and Joel both dislike Jim Mallon with a passion.

The more I hear about it, this little sissy fight reminds me about something they said at the 20th reunion. About how Jo Don Baker didn't hate them until 50 reporters asked him about MST3K and he just got irritated by it. Joel is trying to get Cinematic Titanic up and running (which from it's nature sounds more time consuming and difficult than Rifftrax) and whenever he tries to promote it everyone is bringing up a separate subject.

True.  But still, this would be like the Wayan's brothers getting all pissy when that one comedy movie came out (I can't remember which one) and it was promoted as "Written by 2 of the 6 Scary Movie writers!"  You have to be above some things.  Especially when a lot of people wouldn't have heard of CT if not for Rifftrax press and visa versa.  The two companies tend to cross promote each other when one of them gets press.  It just seems like such a minor thing to get pissy over.

Really I think that as Mike was the on-air host for almost half of the show's run, and he was the head writer before that, he has just as much right to use the MST3k name -- in this sense anyway -- as anybody.

RAD is Mary Jo's husband.  TeamRAD is not.

I think Joel just has sour grapes.  MST3K survived without him. RT probably pulls down more money than they do.  We had more registered forum members in the first two months of the round table than the CT forum has in its entire lifetime.
