I wasn't knocking mainstream films. I said that to clarify that I wasn't, because people seemed to have interpret what i said, as a way of knocking mainstream films.

I took what you said as calling Batman Begins mainstream as though Roger Rabbit was a dogma film or something which I found odd.  It's most of your other posts that have you knocking or marginalizing people who don't like Roger Rabbit, or just like Batman Begins more.

Dogma? Afleck, Smith, and company...yeah....

Anyways, people have said much worse of Roger Rabbit than I have of Batman Begins. I was just saying a few people have said and acted as if Batman Begins is the best comic book movie made, while clearly there are others. I can think of at least three off the top of my head. That is why I mentioned the mainstream comic movie, and the fact most people that voted for it may have only seen a small number of movies compared to others here.

i]In your opinion[/i] there are better comic book films, also as long as people voting have seen both the films in this thread I don't see what difference how many other's they've seen would matter.  I'm not saying you have to like Batman Begins or that you're not allowed to say bad things about it but that's not really what you're doing, you're just sort of dancing around the idea that you think people who vote for it are wrong.

"Dogma" is a Dutch (and in my opinion pretty lame) independent film movement.

I'm sorry then. However, I'm surprised more people aren't offended with a film being outwardly called stupid that so many people seem to hold near and dear. Maybe it's because I love movies more so than any other entertainment/art medium, but still. Surprising.

I also get frustrated when people are needlessly negative but It's just someone else's opinion, getting upset about it won't change their minds.

Danish, but you're absolutley right, it's pretty lame. :)

Doctor Who?

I would just like to point out that I am one of those people who watches ten films a week and I still voted for Batman.

Just because people don't like the same films you do doesn't mean that they know nothing about film.

Also I have not said that Ledger is the best Joker ever, that tittle belongs to Mark Hamil.

From the trailers I have seen I do expect The Dark Knight to be good, that doesn't mean that I have been brainwashed or don't know anything about film.

I read Who Censored Roger Rabbit a few years ago.

The movie bears almost no resemblance to the book except for these three facts.

1:  There is a "toon" rabbit named Roger.
2:  He hires a detective.
3:  He is married to a human-looking toon named Jessica.

That's it, the plot, the motivations of the characters, the way toons are presented (they're mostly described as comic strip characters that even mostly communicate by word balloons coming out of their mouths and floating over their heads), the relationship between Roger and Jessica, who gets murdered, why they get murdered, how toons can appear to take the damage that they can without dying, and even Roger's ability to hold his liquor are completely different from one version to the other.

But is it worth a read?

I agree with the doc, Mark Hamill is the best Joker......... then I'd put Kevin Michael Richardson at second, but that may change after The Dark Knight

Roger Rabbit was a pretty mainstream film too back in the day. If you're indicating that these days it's more of an obscure classic like Ben Hur, then I suddenly feel very, very old. :^)

Doctor Who?

I know how you feel.

When i was a kid all the kids used to watch ReBoot, now no one I talk to even knows what that show is.
