so without further ado

1)
American Psycho (anais.jude)

My powers of pushovery are once again put to use as anais.jude is the first to have their film watched (cause she asked [well she didn't really ask, but rather commanded])

American Psycho takes place in Manhattan during the late 1980s. Patrick Bateman (Christian Bale) is a 27 year old investment banker. He narrates his upper-class daily life, and then turns to his darker side of rape, torture, and murder by night.

what a weird movie, alright so there Patrick Bateman right (played by Tom Cruise in a Christian Bale mask) and he's like a yuppie dude who hates yuppies, but does he hate himself? I don't think so but I do understand his hatred, there's just something about them that makes me want to.......... I don't know. anyway, all of this may or may not have been in his head, still not sure which it is. I'm probably going to side with the "It's all in his head thing" because it makes sense, I mean so many things in the movie just don't add up, why would a prostitute go back to a customer, if she didn't feel comfortable after the last time, and then there's the whole "Phil Collins is awesome" thing which I don't get at all, last I checked, only people on Ritalin liked Phil Collins. I'm glad he didn't kill his secretary, I liked her. the movie had some great moments as well, the blowing up the cop cars, the jumping rope like a little girl, the whole thing with Paul, the strange fascination with business cards. I guess what I'm getting at is, the 80's were weird

I liked it, I give it a "Whoa" (4/5)
I forgot I had a rating system ;D

I'd love to say more, but I have to return some tapes

Ms. .jude, a gift for you

You got a good first movie right off the bat.

American Psycho is one of the more effective satires of the 1980s.
I'm all out for kicks...and every inch of me spells EXCITEMENT!

2)
Napoleon Dynamite(wurwolf)

Preston, Idaho's most curious resident, Napoleon Dynamite, lives with his grandma and his 32-year-old brother (who cruises chat rooms for ladies) and works to help his best friend, Pedro, snatch the Student Body President title from mean teen Summer Wheatley.

wow, just wow. talk about opposite sides of the spectrum, this movie was... I don't even know how to describe it, I mean I love stupid comedies like Balls of Fury and Rat Race, but this was stupid on an entirely different level. The main character, the title character, is the kind of person I have come to associate with people on the internet, or nerds and geeks in general. There's nothing likeable about him, it's just here's this guy. kind of like the guy in National Treasure, not Nicolas Cage, but his sidekick. I have no idea when this film is supposed to take place, at one point, I thought it was sometime in the 70's, but then that girl Summer plays the backstreet boys or N'sync or whatever during her skit. The movie did have it's moments though, mostly when they were getting injured in some way, but that was it, I liked the dance scene, not the dance itself, but the song that played during it. I kind of feel bad saying I didn't like the movie, sorry :-[

I would give this a "Huh?" (2/5), but because I did like parts of it, I'll give it a "huh." (3/5)
again, sorry

I think people flocked to this film because it is radically different, like the way people flock to the Big Lebowski. Unfortunatly, radically different does not automatically equal good (except in the case of the Big Lebowski).

I know one of the women in this film. I can't remember her name, but she played the school securitary in the scene when Napoleon calls his brother for some lip balm. She was my high school's history teacher's mother.

3)
Caravan of Courage: An Ewok Adventure (TripeHoundRedux)

The Towani family civilian shuttlecraft crashes on the forest moon of Endor. The four Towani's are separated. Jermitt and Catarine, the mother and father are captured by the giant Gorax, and Mace and Cindel, the son and daughter, are missing when they are captured. The next day, the Ewok Deej is looking for his two sons when they find Cindel all alone in the shuttle (Mace and Cindel were looking for the transmitter to send a distress call), when Mace appears with his emergency blaster. Eventually, the four-year old Cindel is able to convince the teenage Mace that the Ewoks are nice. Then, the Ewoks and the Towani's go on an adventure to find the elder Towanis.

no trailer available on youtube, sorry

How dare you sir, how DARE YOU subject me to that level of cuteness. The little girl, the demon teddy bears, Kowaloks or something, I'm only one man. The movie itself brought me back to my youth, when I was 11 (roughly 8 years ago) sitting on the living room floor watching Labyrinth for the 111th time. just watching as the cute little creatures fought to rescue the captured family member(s). I kind of wish I had seen this last, because I have a feeling that my sense of childlike wonder is about to be trampled on and smothered out of its misery by the march of films to come.

what's this patrick bateman is tom cruise with a bale mask? WTF? the greatest thing about this movie is bale's acting! That and

i think there is a universality to the film. although the director's mention its an 80s period piece, it could still happen today. Anyone who bases their life on useless material things will just be empty inside and the only way to forgo the emptiness? Kill people

great pic BTW. did you do that yourself?
and boyton beach is near West Palm Beach. Its where my bro lives

alright, I'll start from the top

It's a complicated joke, on one side
QuoteIn the movie, Patrick claims he lives "in the American Gardens building on West 81st." Tom Cruise once lived there. The makers of the film originally envisioned Cruise playing the role of Patrick. In the novel, Patrick has a brief encounter with Cruise, who reacts negatively to Bateman (who has a nosebleed induced by cocaine abuse).
then when my mom saw the Prestige, she confused Christian Bale for Tom Cruise
also just the way he looked and acted reminded me of him

yeah, that's one of the reasons I love Dexter

I found it online, I don't know how to do that
really? that's cool

now if you'll excuse me, I'm trying to watch Breakfast at Tiffany's

4)
Breakfast At Tiffany's (Dr. Mrs. The Monarch)

Struggling writer Paul Varjak moves into a New York apartment building and becomes intrigued by his pretty, quirky neighbor Holly Golightly. Holly's lifestyle confuses and fascinates Paul; in public she flits through parties with a sexy, sophisticated air, but when they're alone she changes into a sweetly vulnerable bundle of neuroses.

wow, such a lovely film, another one I'm probably going to wish I had seen last. I had never seen this movie before, I don't normally see older movies. but I'm glad I saw it now. the film stars Audrey Hepburn, a woman who's films I've never seen, and George Peppard, a man I've never heard of. in my opinion, a good movie has to have a good story, and this one definitely does. the relationship between Ms. Golightly and Mr. Varjack reminds me alot of myself, basically it was like watching me hang out with myself. the story was funny, it was sad, there was a cat . I'm putting this on my must buy list, right next to American Psycho. :)

on the rating side, I'd give it an Awesome (5/5)
a rating I don't give out lightly :D

I just realized, I didn't really review the Kowalok movie, as a movie, it was sweet, could have done without the kid who grows up to be Samuel L. Jackson though.

Hepburn is amazing, though Breakfast at Tiffany's isn't her best film.  Roman Holiday or Charade is.  George Peppard is Hannibal from the A-Team! And was a complete shit, apparently.

Oh My God, that was a joke, I thought the ;) was explicit enough.

Still it's been a while since I had a good noodle whipping.
