Patrick Swayze

I know that the topic of his battle with pancreatic cancer has been touched upon here and that my ADD could have caused me to have overlooked a post in this vein.  That being said, I think it might be cool to work up a super-mega-gigantic get well soon card from the fans here at Rifftrax (perhaps even including a few of the fellows behind Rifftrax).  It might seem a bit backhanded, but he just strikes me as a guy with a good sense of humor about himself.  Let's face it though, even if my impression of him is completely wrong, a get well e-card from people who like laughing at his movies would still be way more tasteful than the tabloids that have been publishing his obit for the past six months.

Sounds like a plan I could get behind.  He's never struck me as the kind of guy who gets offended by a joke at his expense or that takes himself too seriously.  True I base most of this on a single SNL appearance, but I don't think he'd take such a gesture as backhanded.

Exactly my point.  He just strikes me as a very down to earth guy and quite deserving of some good vibes sent his way.

I've heard the exact opposite.

[mearnest]

Where have you heard that?

[ScottotD]

He turned down someone wanting to sample "She's like the wind" because he didn't want to compromise it's integrity, he's turned down several roles playing himself that send him up (Clerks: the animated series for example), etc.

I probably should have put read instead of heard.
