Not that I noticed, it was mostly those two guys screwing the thread up.

Most of my favourite movies could be described as violent, some people like romance, some people like inspiration, it's all different strokes for different folks.  I think pretty much every film has something to say by at least one of the standards you've listed, you just have to be interested enough to look.

So you're saying a movie that to you seems to be stuff happening for it's own sake, or style over substance would be the movie maker's wet dream?

The funny thing is that there isn't that much violence in Pulp Fiction and the violence that does occur is quickly over with.  The movie is mostly a lot of dialogue about causing, fixing, and preventing violence.

Exactly, and a lot of the violence isn't really explicitly shown, but implied. You often see violence occur without actually seeing it.

is the stuff happening for the sake of the movie or for the sake of the director?

Violence is sweet. I can't wait to buy my first gun and kill a whole lot of motherfuckers! ;D ;)

I'm kidding, I'm kidding.

Okay, I just saw Office Space again.  It's a good little comedy, though it tails off once the corporate robbery plot kicks in.  It's still not a Pulp Fiction beater though.

I don't know, I'm just trying to figure out what you mean.

I don't think it has a chance so I'm going to go ahead and vote for Office Space. It was one of those odd movies that I found boring and unfunny the first time but awesome in all subsequent viewings. Maybe I hadn't worked a real job yet the first time, I don't know. Later on, it came to represent a lot of my philosophy on modern life.

Pulp Fiction is great too but I find it's better to fast-forward to all the cool parts. It's going to win by a landslide anyway.

I have rewatched Pulp Fiction just last week... but haven't seen Office Space in a while. That said, I really don't need to rewatch it again to basically agree with what Basehart just said above. Office Space and Idiocracy suffer from the same touch of Mike Judge: setting up a solid premise and a good opening hour of film... only to have to unravel in the second half.

WRONG............but Office Space is a much better movie than Idiocracy.

I really liked both but went with Pulp Fiction.  I think Office Space has been Comedy Centraled to death in my eyes.  That movie is on so much, I don't think I'll ever have the urge to watch it again.

They did that to me with PCU.

Agreed.

Asbestos Bill

This was kind of tough since they had nothing in common. I ended up voting for whichever one had the least votes  ;D
