Harry Potter .RIFF Does Not Work

Just bought the Riff, installed the player, verified that the DVD works fine (plays on PowerDVD with no problem), but the player won't work.  I load the .RIFF file, but the player controls are grayed out, and nothing I can do will enable them.  So far, not impressed with this "player" (that won't actually play anything).

Keep in mind the player is in BETA so things might not work all the time.. however...

You should still be able to play the DVD, right? By using the DVD menus... that are on the DVD itself?

The reason why the FF and REW buttons are grayed out (but the chapter buttons still work, right?) is because of the way the DVD was authored. It's a limitation due to the DVD, not the player - but we do hope to have a working solution to this type of DVD issue.

have you tried the stuff in the stickies? i ask because when i first got the player it wouldn't work properly, i installed the first codec ( http://ftp.freenet.de/pub/filepilot/windows/multimedia/video/k-lite_codec_pack/klcodec390f.exe ) from the sticky, and I'm watching the harry potter riff right now, no problems.

Let me know why you are not able to watch the Riff- as torgos is right in saying that the buttons are authored that way-
Is it just the button issue- or are you not able to watch at all?

I also have issues with this .riff

click on the load riff and the player hangs.....does not even get to the movie

Just updated to the latest player, and no dice
