Cloverfield doesn't come on DVD in the US until Tuesday, the same day the riff comes out.

How RT get to make the track before the movie came out on DVD?  Are they "important enough" to have gotten an advanced copy?

mrbasehart

Yes.  They are.  :)

Seriously though: I think one of the staff gets advanced screeners of movies.  Legitimately and everything!

David

Yes.

DVD companies send out advance copies to a lot of people that could give them press... critics for example.

Does anyone know this for sure or is this just speculation?  The only reason I even care is that I'm in the indie film business and I have been hyping this website to a lot of business associates and investors.  A couple of the latter feel very strongly about bootlegs and piracy so it's a bit of a sensitive issue with me.  I would feel a lot better if someone with a staff brand gave the all clear.  LOL  Not a big deal by any means but I think it's a legit question.

Rifftrax staff have taken a strong stance against piracy and bootlegging in the forums a time or two.  I would venture to guess they feel the same as you.
mike5150 how tall are you?.....in gallons?

ShadowDog

Good enough for me.  Now if I could just figure out how to brown my pop tarts evenly I will have solved all the world's problems in one weekend!

Try eating them frozen instead of warm. It's delicious. All the kids are trying it.

We have asked people not to upload our stuff to sites if they are doing it in the name of "promotion" or "circulating the tapes."

I know what you mean.  I've had more than one person begging me for a copy of the Lost riffs.  I'm like, dude, it's two fucking dollars.  If you're that broke you might want to quit Wendys and get a real job.

Although, quitting Wendy's and getting a real job is always a good move no matter what your reasons are.
Imrahil: Don't care about Riding with Death.

Bob: Turkey.

Action Batch:  Woah, let's all mellow out and rap about this.

But then no more free Baconators that "accidentally" fell on the floor.

I like the succinct, almost engrish, description on the back of the Cloverfield case, " [here] comes the worldwide sensation of nonstop terror and suspense everyone is talking about", Alternative endings (as opposed to the alternative, alternate [which is used on the DVD menu]) and the extra nonessential comma before, "Hidden Research" Now to preview it before the rifftrax ...

EDIT: wow... hmm.... uh... Yeah....watched the special features and apparantly the creature is

Luckily the first explosion came just as my interest had taken in its last breath, my guess, everybody survived due to a dues ex machina Vis-à-vis A War of the Worlds, over the hill explode, but show up in the end (in this case the sequel) completely unharmed, and ready for another go-round

I worked at Wendy's--ten, fifteen years or so ago.  Sometime during my college days, I think.  Free frosties and 40% off everything else.  If only there had been baconators in those days...
