I'm not the most patient person when it comes to taking the time to comprehend Intelligent Design theory but all it ever seems to try to do is refute evolution without reinterpreting  the data that inspired the theory of evolution. in the first place.  A theory that can only say something we find in nature is really complicated and it couldn't have happened without "something else" making it come about doesn't add to our knowledge.  It seems to answer no questions but tries to imply God for the sake of implying God.
And I'm worse than Hitler.

Intelligent design = getting away with murder by changing the spelling of "murder." (Metaphorically!)

I still don't understand how the Theory of Evolution kills God.  It does make Bible literalists look like morons, but there isn't anything that eliminates the hand of God in the theory.

I quoted you both because your posts are both related. While evolution doesn't say "there is no god! huzzah!" what it DOES do is say, "The entire process works without the help of divine intervention." In other words, the process works, as it is, whether god is in the equation or not.

Bingo which is why I can say this:

QuoteYou are not either a ID supporting Theist or and Evolutionary Theory supporting Atheist, you are either somebody who can grasp science regardless of your personal theology or you are a drooling moron who can't even handle the very basics scientific concepts.

Because it's a free country if you want to see the hand of god in evolution then go for it, but you still need to use evolutionary theory to understand how things occur and occurred. whatever religious belief you have should not interfere with your understanding of Evolutionary theory and for the Creationists that's exactly what it does.

But did you ever see the hand of God at the end of The Stand? So cheesy.

I think the process is God.

Well, consider it getting back on.. uhh... Thread comes full circle... ish...?

All right, I guess that teaches me to expect that every hyperlink that contains a movie title has a link to its IMDb page.

Okay, I obviously need to stay out of any and all debates on anything, because I completely suck at debating.  I just say one last thing, that while you may not think that ID is a valid subject, the people that made this film obviously did, otherwise they wouldn't have made it, and their opinion deserves to be heard as much as any other pundit for any issue.  Take that however you will.

It's also worth mentioning that science as we know it isn't designed to prove God anyway. If it could, then there's no point in faith because we would know instead of believe and we wouldn't have our choices and/or freedom in the matter.

Again (and back on topic), why did they go up against atheists in this movie? It would have been more logical to debate with theist-evolutionists if only evolution and folks getting into trouble for mentioning God in a science class were the only topics of debate. If they wanted to make a documentary about proving God, then it would be more logical to involve atheists. The more we involve them in our silly  theological debates, I think the more we make a bad case for ourselves as believers.

It's alright, Dalty. I do too.   :P   Don't let it stop you if you've got something valid to say, though. We're amongst civilized folk (mostly) here.
