I've only just started watching this one. And not knowing the existence of James Lileks until this RiffTrax, I can't help but think that he sounds/reminds me of Brian Griffin   8)

Anyone else notice this?

I not only have no idea who Lilekes is, but I don't buy Rifftrax for the "guest stars".  I don't even buy or watch the ones with Bridget in them.  It's Mike, Kevin and Bill Corbett, or nothing.

Mike is great.  Kevin is Awesome.  Bill Corbett is the one that makes me laugh out loud, time after time.  He's still Crow to me, and although when I hear his voice I think of him as Bill, his delivery is still that snarky, wonderful one that Crow used to have.

I don't care who writes it.  Keep it simple, stupid.

More Bill Corbett!

I guess thats the great thing about being able to have a choice and having a good variety to chose from.

Bless RiffTrax for recognizing that  :)

Ladies and Gentlemen, Bill Corbett!

Seriously, you are missing out on some of our best work if you write off any guest riffers right off the bat.  Once you run out of MKB riffs, I suggest you give one a shot.

Yeah, I have to say, Lilekes was pretty funny on this one!
Don't Pass It By!!

But, I'd like More Bill C. as well 8)

Wow, you don't know what you're missing. Bridget is amazing.

And Lileks rocked!  8)

Here's his report on the taping, by the way.

ETA: Sorry, something's the matter with the link. Just go here for now.

Bring back Bridget!

If someone asked me who the "best" guest riffer is to date, I'd have to say Weird Al.
However, no one has asked me and I haven't finished watching Spidy 3 yet to give Lileks a fair chance...

Due to technical problems, I only got halfway through last night, but I'm completely satisfied with Lileks.  On later reflection, the line "God hated Shemp" wasn't all that funny in context, but his delivery completely sold it to me in that moment.
I thought I was Dale.

I still think he sounds like Diet Bill, so like Diet Dr. Pepper, I'm happy to drink it when there's nothing else. Not that I want to drink James Lilexxx.

He did great, and it didn't hurt that this was one of the funniest riffs for one of the worst movies ever. I needed this after watching the movie "clean." *shudder* I might end up listening to the track solo when the Netflix goes back.

Yeah, I love the "God hated Shemp" line. Fitting considering the director.

Lileks was one of the strongest guest riffers yet. (MORE WEIRD AL!) He conveyed a real enthusiasm for the movie that I thought added nicely to the Riffing. It was a change of pace and a good energy.

Question, though: Is there a reason why every guest has to be JUST Mike + Guest? It could be fun to see Mike + Bill + Guest or Mike + Kevin + Guest or (If possible) Mike, Bill and Kevin + Guest. Mix it up a little!

Ha-Ha, I thought the same thing too.

I really liked James Lileks.  His delivery was so spot-on and his voice is definitely easy on the ears.

Even if it does sound almost exactly like Brian Griffin.

My GOD. That is... pathetic! Mike is on all of the ones with the other guys, so it's not COMPLETELY unknown/ unproven people. Were you a late comer to MST3K, or did you have a freak-out whenever the cast changed?

I have yet to dislike a single guest-riffer, and would LOVE a return from any of them. Try opening your self up to new things, you might just find you like them.

I'd love mixing up too, but my guess is they pay the guest stars a little more. And fair enough.
