Hate to tell you, kodiak, but Robert Palmer did die a year or two ago.  I don't think it was drug related but I could be wrong.  Thought I'd throw that in since musicians who die young usually seem to have a substance-related cause to it.

Substance abuse, or aircraft-related.

Don't forget choke on vomit.  Or the ever popular, choke on vomit while abusing substances and crashing on a plane............... with snakes.

I'm pretty sure any instance of choking on vomit is going to fall under substance abuse. Late AC/DC singer Bon Scott will forever hold the record for best death - the coroner officially ruled it "death by misadventure."

Well, see that makes death seem almost whimsical. I can just see a cute cartoon: "The Misadventure of Bon Scott!" :^)

Let's not forget the "auto-erotic asphyxiation" of INXS' lead singer.  Didn't know if he was coming or going.

I never bought that theory. Many people said that Michael Hutchence seemed depressed before he died, and I can't imagine why a rock star, even a somewhat washed-up rockstar, would need to going half-hanging himself when there still must've been plenty of groupies to get him off.

shortstack, it's the first time I've ever seen "The Snowman" although I've heard the song before.
Thanks for linking to it.  Now I just have to look over a bunch of Celtic CDs to find "Walking in the Air"
