Joel & Mike should do a Riff... together!

I think the best way to do it would be to have Joel as a guest on Rifftrax and Mike as a guest on CT. That way they both benefit and wee geeks will flock to both.

By November, there won't be a cinematic titanic if they don't get off their asses.......

Can you imagine the sales if Mike and Joel did a rifftrax together?  I bet it would sell ten times the copies of a normal trax simply because of the novelty of it and the fact that hell had frozen over and pigs were flying everywhere so people would want to stay inside.  LMFAO

hahaha I joined the forums just to see if there was a thread like this....I concur completely.

I never prefered one over the other in MST3K days...they're like children, unique in their own ways. I could never choose one over the other, I just love them both. Except my weird crushes on both of them (well...back in the day. No offense, guys) then just become even weirder when I use that analogy.

the first episode of season 10 of MST3K where Joel and Mike were side by side. I almost cry every time I see that one, no lie.

I agree with the suggestion that they appear as guests on each others projects. Awesomeness.

I have complete faith that this will happen one day, but we need to give Joel his space and let him establish his product to his satisfaction. He said on the CT blog that they had secured the rights to 12 movies, so I would figure if a crossover was going to occur, it would happen sometime after the original 12 episodes. So we might have to wait a while (though not too long as they're filming three right now), but I think the wait will be well worth it in the end!

Coming soon to an iRiff near you.

He's foolish for not using RiffTrax as a platform to promote CT, after being invited.

But then, no one ever said Joel was a great businessman.

Sigh.  Maybe some day.

1.  I know a lot of people have asked stuff about that but Im wondering if Mike really DID call Joel to do something with Rifftrax - and if so did Joel not call him back or was that a misunderstanding?

Joel sez: Jetjaguar – Good hard hitting forumism.  Yeah it's true, Mike did call and invite me to do Rifftrax.  The problem for me was he called literally about three hours after we launched our website and announced the news on MST3K.com.  So as you can imagine, I've been busy.  You'll be happy to know I've since called Mike back.  But, as I've mentioned in other answers, my take is we need some time to get Cinematic Titanic established as a brand before we start loaning ourselves out to another movie riffing venture like Rifftrax.

Ah, I can respect that. Just as long as it doesn't take 5 years to make it happen (like the Joel/Mike MST3K episode). Of course, I'd wati that long, just sayin' . . .

And even that was a bit of a ripoff, since Joel didn't riff at all and had a weird chin-beard.

Well, since I myself have a goatee, I can't fault Joel on that. Besides, maybe he was just kickin' it old school. If you look closely, on the early episodes, Joel has a barely noticeable goatee.

It did suck that he didn't go into the theater, though. Mike even asked nicely if he wanted to. Oh well, perhaps someday we will see our dream come true and there will be much rejoicing.

Well, I'd do the VanDyke if I could. Unfortunately, my mustache is too patchy to do it justice. So I keep the goatee to give the illusion that I have a chin (too much English in me, apparently).
