Is there a date set for the next game?  Just curious.

Are we ever so lucky?

But, hey, it was a day short of a month separating the last two. Maybe Mike and the gang had time to record two or three and we'll be shifting back to one week intervals like in late January / early February.

The amount of shorts + political ads filled that month long void quite nicely :o

Yes, I was just looking at my list, and we pretty much went a month between "main releases".
But yes we did get 4 shorts and the political adds in between.

I'll go out on a limb and say that the shorts are the "rainmaker" for RiffTrax. No need to purchase the source video. They are only 10-15 mins long and this means that the price to riff ratio is pretty sweet. You also don't need to employ a certain toaster to make sync lines. Just overall less time to make them = $Profit$  :highfive:

In fact, if they get away from DivX, they'd probably make more money because they wouldn't have to pay DivX to make 'em.  ;)

You mean two week intervals?
It was in one week intervals in late January / early February.

Jan 22: Plan 9
Jan 29: Batman & Robin
Feb 5: Jurassic Park

So, yeah, a little out of the ordinary, but it was definitely a fun time for RiffTrax fans.

The profit plan for Rifftrax forces them to put out Trax more often. They don't charge a lot for each riff so they need quantity to keep everyone paid on their staff and make profits. Also producing the actual riff is fairly inexpensive. I would guess that their biggest expense is just salary.

So the faster they crank out riffs the better.

And as long as quality doesn't suffer, I am more than willing to keep buying every thing they put out.

Good point.

...and as long as they continue to not harm any animals in the making of RiffTrax, then I will still buy them too  ;)

I wasn't counting the fan riff since alll they did was record it.  Whoops.

I think it's cute you guys still ask when the next game is when they've said numerous times they like to keep it spontaneous when they announce the next 20 Q's.

I need my spontaneity scheduled, so...when is the next 20Q?

SwordKing

It just occured to me that IF the next game is this coming Tuesday, they'll probably pull something hilarious on us like changing the special rule with each question or giving completely non-sensical answers.

Pak-Man

I like that. My idea: In honor of April Fools day, every other answer will be a lie. And they won't tell us whether it's the even or odd questions. :^)

bratpop

I think they will just lie about the movie. Then tell us the real one.
