I just read that Steve Jobs has pancreatic cancer too.  He had a neuroendocrine tumor of the pancreas (according to the story I read) and not the really bad kind  Apparently he's fine now.

Weird.

Patrick Swayze has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, but as of now has been given a good prognosis for recovery:

I know we're all behind The Swayze.

We are, as seen in this thread:

And someone already used your punny title too.

D'oh! I used the search box to find "cancer" and didn't see the thread on the other forum.

Oh well. Best wishes to The Swayze.

I was gone for one 8 hours and I come back and everyone has Swayze avatars.  Took me a minute to figure out what what's going on.  I certainly hope that the later reports are closer to the truth than the first couple.  Hope he gets better.  It's a very bad stretch for the cast of Road House, but please nobody start with the "Bad things come in 3's" stuff.

Bad things come to those who star in Roadhouse.

You know I find this to be really sad because poor Jeff Healey just died of lung cancer.  :speechless:

But he's been fighting a rare form of cancer (that robbed him of his eyesight) all his life...

We can't let them take Sam Elliott too! Whatever evil force hellbent on destroying the cast of Road House musst be vanquished. AT ALL COSTS!!

Julie Michaels is still pretty hot by the way, especially for a stuntwoman.

Seriously though, all smartass comments aside, Patrick Swayze seems like a genuinely nice guy. Hopes and prayers that he can beat this thing. Somebody on another board told me that pancreatic cancer only has a 20% survival rate.

We have Dalton, though. That's not going anywhere.  The rest is just a bit of insincerity and attention-mongering.

I'm not sure I understand...are you saying that us talking about it and wishing him well is attention-mongering?

Well, in an odd bit of synchronicity, I just received word that an old friend of the family discovered yesterday that she also has pancreatic cancer. Unfortunately, she's had chemo in the past and the type used to combat pancreatic cancer isn't one that she's responded favorably to, so the doctor's prognosis was basically, "Try to enjoy what time you have left."

This has not been a good week.

I hope this turns out for the best. If he's been diagnosed since the end of January, and his doctors are saying it's very limited and looks to be optimistic, then I think we all have reason for hope.
