I'd like to make a suggestion that "someone" should organize a RiffTrax convention/party.

This could be fun!

I'd certainly book a trip to the US to attend a RiffTrax convention.

Let's just all show up at Legend Films in San Diego and bumrush the place.

Then we can take over, and force them to do the films we want to see!

I shouldn't say that too loud, the cult of Troll 2 might get some ideas.

I'd be all for some sort of Rifftrax convention, since I never had the chance to go to an MST3K convention.  Or maybe if Mike and Rifftrax have some sort of panel at next year's big comic-con in San Diego?  I've always wanted an excuse to go to that.

Me too, I never had a chance to do an MST convention, so I think a Rifftrax one is just what the doctor ordered.

P.S. I'm not sure if I'm comfortable with the word "bumrush". Maybe we could say: "Let's just all show up at Legend Films in San Diego and invite ourselves in.   ;)

I know what you meant, but for some reason the way you worded that makes it sound like the US has only one airport or something. I know we're a new country, but give us time to expand our infrastructure!

I second that. In fact, it would probably be a good idea to at least have a booth at ComiCon. Its attendees are the perfect target audience for RiffTrax. Could they have a TV running samples, or would that infringe on public exhibition laws, I wonder?

*Proud that I've never attended a convention of anything* 8)
who's with me?
hehe, (dead silence on the rifftrax board)

The only convention I've ever attended was a Monkees convention (see, I'm a fan of horrible movies and music).  It scared the living hell out of me.  Talk about your psycho fans.  There was this one guy who nearly wet himself himself when Davy came on stage and then there was this scary chick who somehow I ended up sitting by at dinner.  Shespent the evening filling me in on her past life where she and Peter Tork's former spirit were lovers and she's been contacting him in her dreams ever since she came to the realization they were bound together for eternity and she could tell by the way he looked her way during his set that he knew who she was and they would be together and...well, you get the idea.  I was scared.  I just nodded and smiled thinking, "Please god, just let her not kill me."  There were also the people who demanded the Monkees really did love each other and live in a beach house and play goofy antics on the landlords.  I don't know which was scarier.

I just wanted to see them in concert because I liked the show as a kid.  I never knew psycho fans existed in real life.  I mean, sure, I heard about stalkers on the news and such but I figured those were rare.  I figured overzealous fans weren't really that bad.  I was young and the Internet was new, hehe.

Lemme tell you, at that con, the sane people were the rare ones, lol.  Having not been to the MST3k con, I can't say for sure but my friend frequents Sci-fi cons (he's a dork) and he tells me those folks are even worse but tend to be more on the "Star Trek is real in an alternate dimension" type fan.

Wow. And people say we comics geeks are weird. Okay, so maybe we are, but not that weird.

Also, there are Monkees conventions? The hell?

AmandaGal

Monkees conventions aren't as weird as mst3k conventions...well, maybe equally as weird. :-)

Well, I was going to wait until it was a little closer, but I want to invite all of you down here to The Swamp when I do my first Florida book reading.  I'm afraid that the only people there will be my publicist and my mommy. Tentatively scheduled for March.  Come on down, Traxxers-- DAYTONA FOR SPRING BREAK, WHOOOOOOOO!

Tarantulas

I guess the first unofficial Rifftrax convention was in 2000 when LadyKenobi and I (unknowingly) saw Mike and the gang in St. Louis at the same time.

The second was when both AmandaGal and myself (unknowingly) both saw Mike in Arkansas...

We need freaking t-shirts already to identify ourselves :)

BBQ Platypus

Oooh!  Oooh!  Can I come, too, mommy? ;D
Correction: the coat hanger should be upside down.

I'm not too far from Daytona.  I'd be willing to drive there to go to your reading if it was also going to be a Florida Rifftrax Fan meet and greet.  Sounds like fun!

We could arrive, en masse, like the Zombies from NOTLD!
