It might be the way the player is downmixing. If you go into the settings area, audio codecs, you can customize how your sound card is mixing the audio via the player.

EDIT: Just FYI, to do this go to DVD Settings (in the bar at the top), Codec Properties tab, and click the AC3Filter codec. If you don't have it, you'll need to install it (check the Technical support / RiffTrax Player boards here on the forum). When you click the AC3Filter, and click View Properties, you can use the dropdown menu called "Output Format" to change how your sound is mixed - you might try different setups there to see if it has any effect.

Mine was about 1 second out of sync by the end of the first chapter, but jumping back to the start of chapter 2 synced it and it stayed good from there.

Fast forward and reverse no longer help at all, goes into buffering forever, and in full screen the chapter skip and other buttons are not active.  Been that way since about 2 updates back.

DisembAudio's first sync line was at least 2 seconds out of sync. I tried rewinding and pausing and everything, but nothing worked. I just watched this one the old fashioned way.

The RiffTrax player has been working less and less for me lately, it seems.

RVR II

Well, I used my Pinnacle Studio software and it synched up Perfectly, including no sound level adjustments! 8)

I'm interested in knowing if there are others with these problems.  FYI: a few titles have the forward and reverse button inactivated.  This is because of perculiar ways that the DVDs were authored.  In those cases the chapters should sync perfectly.  If anyone experiences a sync problem on those titles, skipping ahead a chapter and skipping back should fix things perfectly.

It's good to have feedback but feedback followed by confirmation from other users is essential to differentiate potential player problems from user system issues.

I utilized the Collector's Edition, which has 15 second longer Universal Opening. The Chapters seem to be slightly skewed for the player and it cannot sync correctly.

Now I have a suggestion for the player: MANUAL OFFSET! :p

I've run across this a few times. All you have to do is pause and unpause and the forward and back buttons will work fine again.

I think the only movie I've not even been able to pause has been Star Trek V.

Same issue, same DVD. right off the bat mike says "and we're back" before the universal is off the screen.

Actually two features I put in my old "rifftrax player" that is missing from this one is the custom offset and DVD stutter correction. I'm finding I have to start the DVD, wait for the buffer to empty while the disk spins back up, then rewind after it resumes again to keep sync. Same thing if you come across a scratched / dirty disk.

Of course, I say that as if both of those features worked properly more than 15% of the time for my old program. Stupid DVD codecs...

I had the same "2 second off" problem for the first 1 and a half scenes. The lines themselves must have been out of synch.
And yeah, the rewinding/fast forwarding thing has a 50-50 chance of stopping the riff entirely, and about a 5 percent chance of actually working.
