How cool (or un-cool) would it be to have Mike as a guest on a future Cin Tit dvd? Perhaps he could reprise one of his characters from MST3K?...Jack Perkins, I'm looking in your direction.

On the flip side, I think RiffTrax should work to get Joel as a guest riffer for a trax.

I think that would show both communities that there are no hard feelings and everyone is supportive and open with each others projects.
I'm totally cool with folks from CT moonlighting it up with RT and vice versa. Heck Kermit The Frog used to appear on both Sesame Street and The Muppet Show and no one complained about it.

Mike & Joel never really had any issues with each other that I'm aware of..
I think and could see Both projects intermingling, and Hope it happens to see what comes out of that!!

I know, but there's this unofficial tension that the fans have created and I don't think its helped that 1) RiffTrax has not had Joel as a guest riffer and 2)CT has never acknowledged RT.

I think showing the two 'geniuses' working together would be a sign of good things for the fans.

I don't know about the 'behind the scenes' politics, but yeah - stirring up unfounded rumors about each others projects doesn't help.

Perhaps in time as CT becomes more successful..

I'd imagine any mingling would be fairly far in the future at this point.  CT is still likely to be working out its style, getting rid of the "rust" and figuring out the types of jokes that work best for them.  While RT is already at that point, it might not be a good idea to mix the two styles until they've both been firmly established.  Just my thoughts.  I'm sure whenever it happened I'd be in the line to buy whatever product came out of such a union.

I think a Pay Per View cage match between Mike and Joel would solve things better.

I really think Joel should guest riff on Rifftrax.  Besides dispelling all the rumors of animosity between the two parties, it also makes good sense for both of them.  Plus the results would be much more immediate than having Mike on CT and waiting months for it to be released.  It would be huge for Rifftrax and it would also serve to promote Cinematic Titanic, something that Joel has been trying hard to do.   I don't see how anyone could lose in that situation.  Plus I really, really want to see it happen but that's besides the point.  ;D

Seems that Mike tried to get Joel involved with RT already and Joel never answered him.  From the RT blog:

Well, there's no ill will from me, either - I wish CT the best. In fact, I invited Joel to collaborate with RiffTrax but didn't hear back, so I guess they wanted to go their own way, which is totally understandable.

Now, is there ill will between me and Barry Gibb? Oh, yes, my friend. You'll feel a chill in the room every time his name is mentioned.

Someday I'll tell the story. Someday...

It would certainly be a good idea for both of them but I also agree waiting would be a really good idea! I am sure it WILL happen-and I will certainly be excited when it does!!
