Those costumes don't actually appear in the film, by the way.

Lies, all lies!

Sting's steel underwear actually does appear in the movie. That particular scene is available for endless re-watching.

I am SO kidding, but it does appear in the movie though.

Oh, I know one! Beastmaster 2: through the portal of time. I love it when the beastmaster is driving through LA and he sees a theater playing the original Beastmaster. I love meta humor. And they really deliver on the premise of going through the portal of time.
You can't spell manslaughter without laughter.

Toy Story has to go on the list. Either of them (I prefer the sequel myself).

How can anyone not like Toy Story?

If there is one thing we can learn from this thread, it's to never say "How can anyone not like _____??"  Some one will almost always give a good reason for not liking it, making you look like a fool.  It's much safer to belittle those who don't like it by calling them stupid or threatening to eat their face than to ask a question that is easily answered.

An interesting question that may be relevant to this thread is: Of the films we all watch, what percentage of those would you say you actually enjoyed?

I'm a pretty lenient guy, my standards having dropped so low by the MST3k films, so that if there's something good about a movie, I try and take that with me.  There's not many films I actively dislike, and I tend to be pretty indifferent about the ones inbetween.

How about everyone else?

That's tricky.  I am picky about the films I take the time to watch (unless it's mst3k or Rifftrax) so I end up enjoying most of the films I see.  But if I were to pick films all willy nilly, I'd probably like very few.

I'm pretty similar in that I'll usually find something to enjoy in a movie. Could a byproduct of MST/RiffTrax be an increased tolerance to mediocre movies? Some movies I couldn't find anything to like about - besides riffing- off the top of my head: Eyes Wide Shut, Hollow Man, The Fast And The Furious.

That's insulting, that you would lump anything by Kubrick in with that Hollywood claptrap. >:(
This iRiff will only be on sale for another few hours. Get it while it's cheap!

In fact, I'd rather watch Fast & Furious over Eyes Wide Shut if I had to choose. I never did see the end of that Vin Diesel/Paul Walker masterpiece.  ;D

Oh, you're missing out then.  Vin Diesel lives his life a quarter-mile at a time.  It's fascinating.

I actually really liked Eyes Wide Shut. Eerie and the ending is just.... Weh. In a good way though.

I can't believe no one has mentioned anything by Hitchcock. What's the deal? Rear Window is the most near perfect movie ever filmed.

Never saw Eyes Wide Shut, but I enjoyed Clockwork Orange most readily. I also prefer Kubrick's Shining over the craptacular TV version that proved to me that Stephen King can't write a  screenplay to save his life.

I just want to know why people dislike The Princess Bride.  It's like disliking Mother Theresa.  Hating the Princess Bride makes Baby Jesus cry.  It's true.  The Vatican released a document about it titled "Infringo In Quare Exosus Procer Pontus Mos Planto Infantia Jesu Vox" or "Discourse On Why Hating The Princess Bride Will Make Baby Jesus Cry".

I don't dislike that movie per se, but I never understood why people like it so much. What's its appeal?

Charm, wit, strong cast, great script, interesting locales, great set pieces, and pretty much everything else a movie with no nudity possibly could have going.
Also, Cary Elwes.
