I'm tired of agreeing with Isaac on things.

There's a lot of "enabling" that goes on in the South that everybody needs to look at themselves....

Sorry to chime in a day later after trying to kill this subject, but...

The present tense of that is the main problem I have...
All your points have merit.

But it's hard for me to take the "present tense" out of that when you still have things like the Jena 6 going on....whatever your opinion of the case.  It still comes down to race.

1. Bridget Jones: Edge of Reason. First off, I don't remember this much cursing in the original. Secondly, not to be totally gay, but screenwriters: get a clue. The audience wants to see Fatty with Hugh Grant (i.e. THE MOVIE STAR). And while it is true that, yes, you can see Colin Firth in this movie, nothing about his reprehensibly boring, stuck-up, stuffy, totally unlikeable character should make you want Bridget to marry him in the end. Seriously. WTF. It's like Leia marrying Obi-Wan. Or Porkins.

This movie enraged me almost too much.  I love the first one, but the whole thing was that no one else ever called her fat.  Because she wasn't.  She was a pretty reasonable normal size, a bit overweight, but not a huge fat cow.  It was in her mind, that was the whole point.  But in the sequel, suddenly it's common knowledge that she's this obese porker and she has weight insults rained down on her throughout the whole movie.  And don't get me started on the Thai prison thing.

That said, I love Donnie Darko and The Talented Mr. Ripley.  I thought both were beautiful and great.  (but Darko fans, don't see Southland Tales.  That movie was basically all the bad points of Darko with two scoops of insanity.)
