Quote from: ImrahilThere was a lathe in Galaxy Quest?

You know what will really blow yer' mind... there was a rudimentary lathe in "A Visit To Santa."
So they have, in fact, riffed a movie featuring a rudimentary lathe. Art imitating life?

Does the movie contain a rudimentary lathe?

What is this actually a reference to, if I may ask?

The line came from the movie Galaxy Quest, and in one of the 20 q games, someone posed that very question, to the guffaws and knee-slaps of many forum members. It is now a classic of the Rifftrax forum.

Yeah, I"ve seen it a lot, but I always thought it was "The Lathe of Heaven" that people were talking about, which seemed a rather obscure movie.  There was a lathe in Galaxy Quest?

Oh come on. Who hasn't heard of "The Lathe of Heaven"??    ;)

Failure is not an option.  It comes factory standard.

You guys are all off. It will be TItanic. Bill has been hinting at something for a while now. Remember his Iceburg photo on the blog and his promise of a big announcement?

Is it the real turtle soup, or is it the mock?

NEW RULES!

Your question must be in "Haku" format. No, that's not a typo - "Haku".

Write yer question in "haiku" form but without using the letter "i".

Clever, but I actually meant no words using the letter "i" - and no misspellings to get around the rule :)

It's going to take some creative phrasing to ask about Plan Nine and Batman and Robin without that crucial vowel.
