I've been lurking for a while, and I decide to register finally. I've been a fan of MST3K since the late 90's around the time of the movie, mainly because of Mike. I had such a crush on him since high school.  ;D So I've pretty much been keeping up with whatever he does. The books, TV appearances and now Rifftrax and the Film Crew.

Besides Mike related things, I also like movies and music from Japan. I love the worst zombie films (and Bruce Campbell) and also films from the 'golden era' of Hollywood. Favorite TV ranges from childhood favorites like Pee Wee's Playhouse to things on now like House and Pushing Daisies, with a heaping helping of Britcoms and Doctor Who. I have an unnatural obsession with cute Hello Kitty-ish type things.

I work in an office where an alarmingly high number of people know about MST3K, which is shocking for rural Virginia town. Last count 4 people! A new record! I'm the only girl. :(

Well talkietoaster I think you are certainly in the right place! Welcome!

Have you had the chance to try any of the RiffTrax out? Any Favourites?

talkietoaster

I have not purchased any yet, but only because I haven't decided which ones I want to try first. There's so many!

I'm know Willy Wonka is going to be in the first batch I buy, simply since NPH is involved. Doogie-fangirl here! Hmmm now to decide on a couple of others....  :D

You got some great suggestions on here already, I'll add Eragon to the list.  It was the first movie I bought just because there was a Rifftrax of it, and its been a favorite ever since.

Welcome, and I'm sure you're going to fit in perfectly here.

Music from Japan, eh?  I like it too, but for all the wrong reasons.  I downloaded a Weezer tribute album by Japanese bands.  Their pronunciation of English words are fun.

Pak-Man

I dig Guitar Vader for the same reason. :^)

Yep, I've been listening to Japanese music for *counts on fingers* almost nine years now.

The last five I've been a fairly serious collector of vintage music from the late 60's through the mid 90's in the genre of idol music. That's my main hobby, with over 300 CDs, 230 vinyl lp's and ep's along with numerous bits of memorabilia and books. I even have to use a cataloging system to keep up with everything.

My favorite group from Japan ironically is Pink Lady, whom Mike likes to mention and/or put down whenever referencing something from Japan.  ::)

Can I get a link to that tribute album?

I did that a long time ago.  The website I got it from is now dead.  However, the album was called Across The Sea, A Weezer Tribute.  I only kept a few songs too because a lot of them were pretty bad.
