Anyone who's ever laughed at a Mystery Science Theater 3000 episode should be ashamed of themselves to suggest downloading something pirated like that. These guys worked hard for more than ten years to make us happy, and this is how you reward them?

That was a joke by the way. Since I've talked with you in the past in Riffchat I know you're not a malicious person I just thought the suggestion was wrong since it's their livelihood vs. your opinion.

its my opinion, true.

They just need to improve their product, cause as its stand now, its very poor. now, as its stands, I've only listened to it twice, maybe more listens may change my opinion, that has certainly happened with with many a MST episodes.

I just thought he meant that people should save a little money, and wait to download it from EZTakes when it's available. As opposed to paying for the DVD and shipping and whatnot.

Well I liked it a lot.

It's not Rifftrax, it's a companion piece. I can't tell you how nice it is to have choices in the TYPE of riffing you're in the mood for... last night I watched Over The Top followed by Space Mutiny. If I hadn't been so tired I might have followed that with a season two MST3K just for more diversity.

We are so spoiled by all our riffing choices...

Like I said in my review: I think we've been spoiled by RiffTrax with quality riffing from them.
Oozing Skull really put this into perspective for me.

But, give CT a chance. This is only their first release. I'm sure they will get better as time goes along.

So, do you folks think Mike, Bill, and Kevin could have done a lot better with this movie?  I'm not sure, the CT crew did all the obvious jokes, I just don't think this movie was good riffing material, too mean spirited to make good jokes.  This was usually the case with the least funny MST3K episodes, if the movie is too depressing or mean it's hard to keep a good laugh going.

I'm not sure if they could have done better. Like you said, the movie was dark.

I think who they had riffing should have done fine, but they sounded a bit rusty. Here was my take:

Josh was the funniest and seemed to have the most riffs, followed by Joel. Mary-Jo didn't really say much at all (they even made a comment about that during the riffing). Frank doesn't sound natural to me to riff. Don't get me wrong, Frank is a funny, funny guy, but he is better at writing then delivering. Also, Frank is better at acting in segments. Trace just sounded rusty to me; rustier then the rest. I think you will notice that he will make the biggest improvement out of all over the next few releases.

Wow, I really can't disagree with this more.  I have watched the Oozing Skull three times and the reason is the riffs. 
As much as I enjoy the stuff from Mike, Bill and Kevin the CT crew easily matched them with their writing.

The style was a bit different and if anything was more MST3K like than Rifftrax, but that is hardly a bad thing.

Oh come now, in context of the scene that was going on, it was funny.
