no...the comment.

I got my DVD...and i liked it.  Not great  but not bad by any means.  It was kinda sparse near the beginnining, but it gained speed near the end.  To me, it was worth the 15 bucks.

The style was a bit different and if anything was more MST3K like than Rifftrax, but that is hardly a bad thing.

The riffing reminded me of the early Joel days from MST3K.

One thing that Cinematic Titanic did that I really like was it sort of "broke the rules" of riffing. I don't know how better to describe it than to state an example. To the short lab assistant: "3 feet yet?" to which he responds, "Not yet!". This is a very easy, but pretty funny style of joke to make, but I have noticed that RiffTrax likes to steer away from this, because it really does ruin the "This is painful. This is the first time we're watching this movie" charade the riffers try to put on.

I think rifftrax has to stay away from those because they require exact timing.  What if the person watching has their rifftrax just a little out-of-sync with the movie, and the joke comes out as "Not Yet!" followed by "3 feet yet?".  It wouldn't make the slightest sense at all.  I have the impression that many riffs in rifftrax work reasonably well even when I am a little out-of-sync (and I'm often at least a few seconds out-of-sync).

I think the riffs were reasonably good, but they were delivered too stiffly.  It was like each person would read some riff, and as soon as it was over they'd be busy starting to think about the next thing they had to do.  There wasn't all that much interaction between the riffers.  Part of the fun of rifftrax comes when one guy says some bad joke or pun, and you hear one of the other guys slap him.  Not that CT needs to have a lot of slapping, but there should be some reaction to what the other riffers are saying.  For the majority of the Oozing skull riffing, it's like each person is doing their riffs without the others even in the same studio.

I think they need to get into the swing of things, so they can come across as a bit more relaxed and "having fun".  This was certainly a good first episode, and I hope they can keep coming out with more.

Anyone who's ever laughed at a Mystery Science Theater 3000 episode should be ashamed of themselves to suggest downloading something pirated like that. These guys worked hard for more than ten years to make us happy, and this is how you reward them?

Wrong, pal.

Yeah, it's okay to have that opinion about Oozing Skull (can't agree myself.)  But I'm pretty sure most of that money is not being sunk into some movie studio, but is going mostly to the individuals who worked their tails off on this.  I'm not above downloading a thing or two, but this really isn't the time to suggest piracy.

Finally got around to seeing this. Pretty good, hope they keep it up. Must say Rifftrax is still the better of the two!

I had never heard Trace riff out of character before. He had riffed for many years as Crow and once as Dr. Forrester, so I was curious as to how he would naturally handle his voice in this release. I was surprised to find that he actually sounded quite a bit like Crow most of the time. Anyone else notice that?

I know, esp Josh too.. early servo and all.

totally threw my off whenever they spoke.

It used to be they'd browse through dozens of crappy videotapes to find something "riffable." Do you wonder if that's even an option anymore? Maybe the reception of this has more to do with the movie and less with the "riffers." Some movies just don't lend themselves as well to riffing.

Ok I just finished watching it.

WOW. First I'll just give it a solid 8/10

Maybe it was all the people who said they weren't that impressed or maybe I just missed those guys and gal a lot more than I thought I did.

I loved it. Every bit of it. I felt like I was watching a updated MST3K, sure there are some things that need to be worked on but over all it was just awesome.

About the riffers.

J. Elvis is hilarious and i really enjoy the voice that he has grown into. I couldn't stand his voice in season one.

Joel was solid but I was surprised at how few riffs he had.

The freeze frame skits have a lot of potential out of all of them the only one that fell flat was Trace's.

I just saw this tonight and thought, for the most part, it was REALLY great.
Many of the jokes had me laughing, but the "skits" really felt awkward to me.  Definitely looking forward to more from CT!

I enjoyed it.  Not quite as much as some of the best efforts from Rifftrax (or the Film Crew: Giant of Marathon is gold people!) but it had some quality gags throughout.  I quite liked the set-up of all the silhouettes too, though Joel seems a little crowded out on the right there between Josh and Mary Jo, perhaps they'll switch around for different releases? My favourite joke had to be when Stephen Hawking came out the first time and called "dibs" on future operations, it was so totally unexpected that it caught me completely off-guard.

Can't wait for the next episode, though it better be available via download...
