I'm familiar with the practice of being vague, and not saying specifics so that people can't argue with you about a topic, but Tom Cruise takes the cake there.  He could just as easily been talking about baseball or how he's an EMT.  You've think that somewhere in those ten minutes he'd give you something that you could argue and call him crazy over, but no, thanks to editing that's all left out.

It's all part of Tom Cruise's agent's plan of making him look crazy for publicity while most of his movies are not doing that well. I mean I didn't hear anyone praise him on his acting in the last two Spielberg movies, or really the movies either. That's red alert time. Tell Katie Holmes' agent to tell her to go out with Tom Cruise so he jumps on a couch because somebody told him he must be in love. And also, well, it must be well known by now that Opera's studio pumps out some kind of gas that makes people go crazy when something only mildly exciting happens, like winning a new car that you have no reason to automatically believe you just won, or getting a "real" girlfriend who is not actually a man like Nicole Kidman.

As soon as Tom is in a good movie (well, anything can happen), he'll suddenly come out and say directly, "Scientology? What? No, I'd never be involved with that crap. Who said I was a Scientologist? Those people are crazy." It's all clever digital manipulation.
