Blonde and Blonderer

QuoteEmpire Film Group has announced that the recently released comedy "Blonde and Blonder," starring Pamela Anderson and Denise Richards, will be getting a sequel. The script for the film has been completed and is called "Blondes in Space."

It follows our two leads through many adventures whereby they finally end up on a flight into outer-space. (Click below for the full plot summary.) Several characters from the original movie return for the sequel, which will be filmed in Vancouver and receive a majority of the production financing through Canadian rebates, subsides and advances on distribution rights from a US, Foreign and Canadian distributors.

"Blonde and Blonder" is a female version of "Dumb and Dumber" and after being released on January 18th, the film went on to earn $42,183. With numbers like that, a sequel is inevitable. Maybe the next installment will break $50,000.

Lost Boys 3

QuoteThe trailer for the upcoming straight to DVD release of "Lost Boys 2: The Tribe" appeared online just last week, and now, Corey Feldman is already talking about a third installment.

"The stage is set," Feldman told MTV about the ending of "The Tribe." "So it's really up to you, the viewer, and you, the audience, to see that the final chapter comes into fruition."

While no official storyline has been discussed, Feldman says he's got a slew of ideas for where to take the twisted, tragic tale of Edgar Frog. "What I would like to see? Personally the way I would like to see it go, I would like to see Edgar finally become a vampire himself and have to battle his own inner demons," he fantasized. "That's where it should go in my mind."

It's an ending that Feldman insists would play to the dark side of the character. "I think that part of the magic for the whole trilogy would be seeing those characters that you trust, that you love, turning to the dark side and figuring out if they could make their way back," he stated. "For the guy who's out there defending truth, justice, and the American way to be confronted with his own demons, and actually have to go down the path of the dark side - will he make it out? Or has he gone down so far that once he's turned, there's no hope, light? Who can save him? I mean, once Edgar Frog's turned, anything's possible."

'Cause that's never been tackled on film before.

Crank 3 in 3D

QuoteCollider got the chance to speak to writers Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor, who revealed that even though they haven't started work on "Crank 2," they are already planning "Crank 3," which will be in 3-D. The reason why the second installment will not be in 3-D, is because the duo is waiting for the necessary cameras to get smaller.

While "Crank 2" will not be in 3-D, Neveldine added that they have built a moving bullet-time camera rig for the film "We're going to be creating a 'moving bullet[-time] camera' that has never been done before. We're putting about 15 cameras onto a piece of speed rail, all these super lightweight cameras that I'll be holding on rollerblades flying around people. So you'll have that image that you've seen in the Matrix, where they stop motion and the cameras spin around, except for the fact that our cameras can spin around and move while the actor moves."

"Crank 2" begins shooting in six weeks and is scheduled to hit theaters in 2009.

I'm not sure who to contact about this, but I would very much like to never see another bullet time sequence as long as I live.  I'll try sending some letters and let you guys know how I do.

Dear President of Movies,

I would very much like to never see another bullet time sequence ever again please.  Pretty please.

Thanks,

Courtney

My next letters will go to the King, Emperor, and Governor of Movies.

Underworld: Rise of the Lycans

QuoteSCI FI PI visited the set of the new "Underworld" prequel, entitled "Underworld: Rise of the Lycans," which is currently being shot in giant warehouses in the outskirts of Auckland.

According to the site, Rhona Mitra (Doomsday) has been cast as Sonja, who is "Viktor's daughter, vampire lover of werewolf Lucian and cause of all the fuss that is the thousand year war between wolf and bat."

Kate Beckinsale and director Len Wiseman will not return to act and direct, but Wiseman has signed on to produce. Instead, Patrick Tatopolous will take over helming duties; he and Wiseman have worked together on the first two films.

Tatopolous commented on the plot of the new movie, stating: "It's the 'cousin' of the first two films, with the story focused on the history of the werewolves and their rise from slavery."
