Doctor Who?

I only own the VHS version of this movie and I just noticed that on the back it say "Edited for home video".

Is there anyone here who can tell me if the VHS will work with the Rifftrack.

Thanks for your time.

Junkyard

Yes, I think so. I think it was just standard letterbox cutting.

Doctor Who?

Thanks alot.

I will post here again if it doesn't work out.

Thanks for your help.

Junkyard

Hope it works. The only copy I could rind was the VHS, too.

Usually when they are referring to a film that has been pan and scanned for full screen they say the film has been "modified"  for home video not edited.

Doctor Who?

it worked.

That was one of the best ones yet!

It's strange it has the "modified" warring on the back as normal, but it also has big blue letters that say "Edited For home video".

But the movie and Rifftrack played perfectly,so i don't know what that part was about.

The DVD is widescreen/letterboxed and it says "edited for home video" -- don't worry about getting a pan/scan 4:3 DVD because they weren't made that way.

It's easy to find used Battlefield Earth DVDs on Amazon -- I've ordered two from goHastings.com and they're $1.37 each plus shipping & handling. It's a good DVD, lots of extras & a director's commentary that's worth listening to.

Unfortunately the HD versions floating around (itunes etc) don't work with this RiffTrax.

Ah balls... I wonder how bad the sync is.

MrTorso

It is all over the place.  I tried it with the itunes HD and there things added and missing and I don't have the patience to try to edit it.

Yeah a little bit of reading around suggests the DVD might have been an 'extended' version, and more recent versions have been trimmed back. Ah well might put this onto the back burner for now.

I may be 10 years late on this but if anyone wants to experience this amazing movie in HD with Rifftrax I have some good news for you!

The German Bluray release is the same cut as the DVD release so the Rifftrax mp3 syncs up with it! The open scroll is in German but, like Star Wars, everyone already has it memorized. amiright
