What, no Bridget?

And no love for Lowtax either.    I really liked his Troll2
Lowtax isn't even on the official guest riffer page.  What's up with that?

He still hasn't sent in his bio!

D'oh!

Maybe a picture of him in a funny hat with a bio that reads "This space intentionally left blank" will get him off his duff.
I thought I was Dale.

David

Is anyone else getting a placeholder page?

http://www.somethingawful.com/

Maybe he hasn't sent in the check to renew his domain name either.

Works for me.  There's even an article by him on the front page.  I haven't followed the site in a while, but back when I checked it regularly, seeing something Lowtax actually wrote himself was kind of rare.

Nope. I'm getting the same placeholder page as David.

This has been a total threadjack but I'll put my "band-aid" for the somethingawful problem here. Tenbux.(...) has the wrong address which does that stupid redirect.

SO... Put these in your 'hosts' file until they fix it or whatever (In WinXP, C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts)

216.86.148.10 www.somethingawful.com
216.86.148.111 forums.somethingawful.com
127.0.0.1 tenbux.somethingawful.com
216.86.148.11 fi.somethingawful.com
216.86.148.11 forumimages.somethingawful.com
216.86.148.11 i.somethingawful.com

THEN run this: ipconfig /flushdns

So, uh, how about that RiffTrax blog about CT, eh?

Meh.  I prefer it hijacked.  You can only shake your head at raving partisan fans for so long.  There aren't even any of them here to keep things entertainingly hostile.
I thought I was Dale.

Bob

Maybe Rifftrax is messing with their homepage...... yeah, that is it.    And Rifftrax also stole EZTake's lone DVD burner and supply of 50 DVD-Rs.  Yeah, I just bet that is what happened.

Yeah, hijacking threads is kind of a Roundtable tradition, isn't it?  There really wasn't much left to say on the matter anyway. And the initial outrage over "dirty" tactics has subsided now, it seems.

I was out of town when this was started, but Issac, your quote is exactly right:

QuoteIt's neither a joke nor a dirty trick.  It's smart business and it's totally within the bounds of fair play.

I don't see how it could be reasonably* be perceived differently.

*The time honored tradition of "looking for something to complain about" does not qualify as "reasonable" behavior

Well if you're looking to the Internet for reasonable behavior, you're squeezing blood from a turnip. :^)

Fuzzy Necromancer

The lurkers and ghoulish subhumans that haunt the furry-hating moores of Somethingawful.com are...um...jerks.

Yeah. Totally. >.< Somebody posted a link there to a forum I was on, and we got a swarm of the nasty little things spamming up the place and flooding threads with tubgirls and gotse.

Yes, but in the past year and a half we've learned a bit a bout which complaints are worth taking seriously.

1.  Reasonable complaint:  I was unable to download my links in the allotted time, can I please have another chance?

Response:  Reset links, implement system to ensure that links don't expire.

2.  Unreasonable complaint:  You have attempted to make it easier for people who are clearly interested in very similar (theoretical) content to find out about your product.  This outrages me.

Response:  None

Read the posts on mst3kinfo, and came across this tidbit that I only recently learned myself...

Quote some guy  says:
December 29th, 2007 at 5:48 pm:

"The rumor I've seen floating about online is that the Film Crew stuff was supposed to be an ongoing DVD series for Rhino, but Jim Mallon felt the Film Crew project was infringing on his intellectual property and so he strongarmed Rhino into dropping the distribution deal."

yadda, yadda, yadda,  Then one of the "Anti-RT' Trolls pipes up with this gem (of colossal ignorance)

"Looks like my comment was removed...cute. Guess Bill can't handle negative critisism..."

So I just couldn't resist, i used his little *ahem* statement as a segway to place the blame where it should go...

"I'll tell you what I can't handle, it's just four little words. But I must say I'm having trouble reconciling them appearing in the same sentence....

"Jim Mallon" & "Intellectual Properties" : >:D

What a butt-mime!"
