If you follow the wrestling feud template, the mega RT CT showdown would come at the big climax.  Build up until they both take on the biggest baddest horrible movie possible challenging each other to see who can riff it best.  (of course the first time you go to a draw or a disqualification, so you can have a rematch)

Assuming that Cinematic titanic go on throughout the year in the same manner as they have been so far, by the end of the year I will own 6 CT dvd's and have 25 more rifftrax DVD's.

Who wins?

Perfectly well put. I like when we're all winners :)

Quite right!  :highfive:  There are so many movies at their disposal, this should be more complementary than competition.  Plus, RT is tackling more mainstream movies while CT seems to be targeting more the 'B' Sci-Fi/Horror genre.  I think Mike knows this and has a great attitude hosting discussion about CT here.

Some people prefer Joel (with good reason) and some people prefer Mike.  I don't give a shit!  ;D They're both very talented, I just purchased the CT movie and plan to continue purchasing several RiffTrax as I acquire the movies being riffed.

So I say to Mike AND Joel's crew, "keep up the good work!"

i never understood the feuding that's gone on in the mst3k community, going all the way back to the Joel/Mike debate

i started watching mst3k when i was a little kid, back when Comedy Central was new and hard to find in most cable tv markets. i guess the Joel/Mike argument didn't really affect me because when i got into the show i was very young and it was the robots who I found the funniest.

now it's nearly 10 years later and people are taking to the battlefield again because the two hosts just so happen to have two different projects.

but honestly, why bicker over this? Rifftrax offers MST fans what we've been waiting to hear for a very long time, the opportunity to take a crack at recent hollywood blockbusters in the same vein as MST3K took at low budget old B-movies. Meanwhile, Cinematic Titanic offers a chance to see even more cheesy old B-movies get torn to shreds by the sharp wit of the MST3K veterans.

There's something for everybody. If you want to see a cheesy old movie from the 70s get mocked relentlessly, get Oozing Skull from Cinematic Titanic. If you just picked up the latest hit movie from Blockbuster Video and you want a chance to hear the riffers say what you're probably thinking, download the latest Rifftrax.

Remember friends, only love pads the film. Can't we all just get along?

I think a lot of the discontent comes from those who refuse to be content until there are 2 robots, a human, a satelite of love, and as many as 2 mad scientists. :^)

All those guys that just act discontent and want to start a fight piss me off!  I'll kick all their asses right now!

Hold on, forgot my medication today...

Why always the yelling...

People just love to fight over stupid stuff, Mike/Joel, Kirk/Picard, who's the best 007, etc....  At least with flame wars no one gets hurt.

Even with all the changes to MST3K over the years it was always very funny, and that's pretty amazing, most shows do not survive changes in cast or staff....

I never would have guessed Joel would come back, hope he sticks with it for many years.

It is a great time for the fans, best of both worlds, old cheesy movies with jokes and silhouette props, and big budget cheesy movies with jokes....

Isn't it amazing that MST3K survived and was still funny despite the fact that NONE of the original main cast was there at the end?  That still blows my mind, I can't think of a single other show that's true for.  I mean SNL has survived for much longer, but its been a long time since it was funny.
