It's hard to deny there have been great and bad movies this year. Despite my personal feelings however, I am going to list some movies that I didn't exactly care for as well, just to be fair. Let's vote and have a great, civilized discussion please.  :)

Pak-Man

Psst. Transformers is in there twice. You're gonna Nader it. :^)

My favourite film of the year isn't actually on your list.  It's Atonement.  No Country for Old Men isn't out here till next year, so that might be in the running for the 2008 poll.  If I had to pick from that list only though, it would be Ratatouille.

I will add Atonement. Thank you.

I voted for 300. I figure any movie that pisses off hardline islamofascists like the iranian government deserves to be honored

I voted for No Country for Old Men because I loved it and a few stupid people hated it.

1 - Ratatouille
2 - Once
3 - No Country for Old Men
4 - Knocked Up
5 - The Last Gaze
6 - Grindhouse
7 - Superbad
8 - Zodiac
9 - Live Free or Die Hard
10 - Paprika

RoninFox

Had to go with Hot Fuzz here.  Got to love a movie that actually finds a way to make a scene from Point Break meaningful.

i voted for 3:10 to Yuma, but I really loved Rescue Dawn. That is my pic. (of course it is getting snubbed by all the award shows! Damn Morons!)

Ah, yes - almost forgot.  Not only is it the best movie I've seen this year, no other movie even comes close.  Although that may change when I see There Will Be Blood, what won't change is that people will remember this movie 40 years from now.

I'll bring a camera, we can pitch the encounter as a pilot for NBC!

Hot Fuzz was truly brilliant, though not quite as good as Shaun of the Dead. Loved the ridiculous final shootout that ripped off every shoot'em up including Hard Boiled. Though I have to say I loved The Mist as well. One local reviewer here in Vancouver put it best..."it has the unhappiest-ending-ever ending".
In theory, practice and theory are the same. In practice, they aren't.
