Rifftrax Player for PAL?

Hi,

I'm surprised this hasn't been asked... or maybe I overlooked it and it was beaten to death somewhere else?

First, I have a couple of NTSC discs and so I have tried the Rifftrax Player and I'm very impressed.  Very cool product!  Unfortunately I can't use it long term even for my NTSC discs as my stupid DVD drive is RPC2 and it'll lock into region 1 permanently if I overdo the number of NTSC viewings.

Nothing you guys can do about that... I'd have to upload a firmware change and I'm too frightened Ithat will melt my DVD drive into a steaming puddle of goo.

But I wonder why the Rifftrax player can't work with PAL disks?  Is it just a case of diminishing returns -- too much work for too few sales?   Or is there a technical issue that can't be overcome?

Cheers
Steve

? Thought there'd be some sort of reply by now ?

Are there plans for a PAL version? Are there technical or economic issues that make it unlikely?

We hope to accommodate PAL in the future.

Whoah, way too much information to process!  I'll have to reread that four or five times until I've digested it all.

(I kid you guys, but you know I'm just kidding you... you're wonderful)

Cheers!

(it's now the year 2008, flying cars are a reality, all your nutrients come in a tiny pill, money is obsolete...booming Futurama voice: Welcome to the FUTURE!.)

... so...  any news about a PAL version?

I've downloaded the player and tested a PAL DVD, no problems with the DVD playback. seems to make it PAL compatable is to simply make PAL riff files.

Yeah, that's what I thought.  I guess to actually make a PAL riff you need whatever publishing software they use, plus the PAL disk, plus a PC with a PAL DVD drive... it may be they don't have all the components at Rifftrax Headquarters (or) they can't get the publishing software to BathTub (or) it's very labour intensive and BathTub is busy with converting Riffs and doing real-world tasks.

I dunno.  Rifftrax Corp give no hints!

And it's been six months since my first query about this.

Hey, be glad we're foreign!  Otherwise we'd be native Americans and we'd be  voting for your presidents and Pat Paulsen would've won in 1968.

Yes, please share the joy of the Rifftrax Player with us  PALs. Or at least step up the pace on that HD-DVD/Blu Ray version so I can watch me some Spider-Man, Pirates of The Caribbean, Ocean's Eleven, Bourne Identity, Speed and Transformers thankyou very much.

I mean, there aren't enough hours in the day (or room on my hard-drive for that matter) to keep authoring all my DVDs into Rifftrax DVDs.

And pausing the darn things is just annoying, especially if you leave it for too long on the PS3 and the darn thing has another slight pause after the point you originally paused it, which just messes everything up with regard to synching.
