If these claims that keep popping up on the net ... no examples included just google it google google google ..... are true then the guy imho they have to get to play Zap Brannagan has absolutely got to be Patrick Warburton from the movie Underdog (2007).  That guy reeks of the Zapster, with his swauve one liner's and his persistant use of nonesensical phrases.
When life hits you hit it back HARD !!!!

A live-action Futurama?  Dear God, I hope not.

Then again, it wouldn't be the end of the world.  I react in quasi-horror to far too many planned or rumored movies these days.
Correction: the coat hanger should be upside down.

No, but Ben Affleck's gaining weight to play Homer in a live-action Simpsons movie. ;)
This iRiff will only be on sale for another few hours. Get it while it's cheap!

Okay, seriously, no offense but of all the things Patrick Warburton has done in his career you pick the hideous Underdog movie?  Did you just become aware of this guy six months ago?  Seinfeld?  Family Guy?  The Venture Brothers?  The Tick?  Voice talent in god knows how many others?
I love this guy, Brock Sampson rules, and if anyone could do a live action Zap Brannagan it would be him.  I'd have to side firmly in the 'dear god no' camp, however.  I can't imagine why you'd want to make a live action Futurama.  They're doing just fine in animated form.

They already MADE this. It was called Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Movie. It's got a boy (Mike) an old scientist with glasses (Forrester), a robot (Cambot), and a lady with one eye (Gypsy), and underpants. It's got a spaceship too. And a lobster guy. And a guy who delivers things. It's EXACTLY the same.
