I'm just gonna stick the MP4 on a mem stick and see if my 360'll play it straight up.

Is there anything about this that isn't totally illegal, not to mention a technical nightmare? I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure there is no way I'm downloading this and paying for the riff and trying to get them to sync up or even play at all without the guarantee of either the rifftrax player or sharecrow. Okay I get it, you don't have to do it. It's a geek thing. But it's just too much trouble and I don't really need a file that big permanently on my computer, nor do I want to sync riffs the old fashioned way. I don't even know what the file is, it doesn't have an extension. As much as I want this, it sounds like a whole lot of stress for me. I'm already getting that for Christmas. If it were free I might bother to try and see if it's even possible to make this logistical drama work, but I can't put my trust in a bootleg file download of questionable origin, quality, and format. No way.

This is no different to any other rifftrax, how you get the film is your responsibilty. And if you go back over the last few pages you have options.

I wanted to thank everyone at Rifftrax for this. I missed the 20 q's and when I logged into Rifftrax.com this morning to find out what the next release was I had a full range of emotion in less than 1 second. I was so happy that Mike, Kevin and Bill are riffing this thing but I was also wondering(scared) about how one was to view it with the rifftrax file. My questions to what version and how to view it were answered after just a few clicks of my mouse.

Ortega has posted an easy to follow guide with everything you need to make a DVD out of the proper version of the Special.

With any luck, the DVD from ReverendBeastly will be the 1:57 version with commercials.   If not, then we can all just figure out if we want to:

1.   Make DVDs from google version
2.   Just watch google version on PC with iPod
3.   Try syncing yourself the riff to the DVD copy.

So many options, so many ways to be embarassed for everyone in the Star Wars Universe.

I cannot wait for the commercial riffs.

DVD Flick.

This took the Google file and wrote it a a DVD file on my hard drive (Audio and Video TS).  You can burn these to a DVD and watch it on TV.  It did take 2:45 to convert, but I had to click my mouse about 3 times total to do the job.

Easiest way I found to do this if you're like me and your Nero wanted nothing to do with this file.  I can in turn easily make a reauthored dvd with the Riff built in.

Hope this helps anyone.
Here's the link: http://www.dvdflick.net/ And It's FREE!!!

So Far, So Good!!
If it will burn it to a playable DVD, I can get my Pinnacle Studio version 9.4 software to do the rest with the RiffTrax and adjust the audio levels as nessesary.
Thanks for letting us know about  this Jonny!

UPDATE: DONE! COMPLETE! HOLY SH*T DUDE!! I Has It on DVD!!! In Less Than an Hour (Quad Core Processor.. ;D )!!
WOO-HOO!!!

I know he's not releasing it on DVD, but is he actively trying to sponge it out? I haven't read anything about him doing so, especially when it's widely available on the 'net.

I guess we'll all find out the next day when the big white vans of LucasFilm employees show up at our houses to erase our memories.   :D

Yeah, maybe he isn't really bothering, but it's fun to think so. I suppose it wouldn't even be on 'Lake Video' if he wanted to unleash his lawyers on it.

Jefferson Starship won a Hugo Award in 1971 for their album Blows Against The Empire. Ever since then, people who don't know anything about music have considered them "the sci-fi rock & roll band." They ended up playing Dragon*Con in 2002 on the basis of this (if there's been a good band at D*C since 1997, I've yet to hear of it).
"All I ask of you is one thing: please don't be cynical. I hate cynicism -- it's my least favorite quality and it doesn't lead anywhere.
Nobody in life gets exactly what they thought they were going to get. But if you work really hard and you're kind, amazing things will happen."

Is anyone seriously going to complain about this?! Is it impossible to put this file onto a cd, open up the video in one media player and then do everything in your power to not break your back opening up another media player to play the rifftrax mp3? Oh God, and the syncing?!? Why would anyone want to have to lower themselves to a neanderthal-like state following the instructions to easily sync the video and the riff? It's like "Hey, this is December 2007, not September 2007 I can 't go wasting 30 seconds syncing up a file like those openmouthed-breathing troglodytes did a few months ago, no way man, I'm better than that and my time is too important.". I feel your pain.
