What have we learned at Hogwarts?

It might not be a potter myth. I'm big on folklore and mythology in general, so it could come from another source like bullfinch's mythology or NPR.
Love doesn't hurt. It kills.

"Where there's smoke, there's a smoke-making machine."

I learned that Harry Potter is very adept at restating the obvious.

I learned that looking crossly at a broomstick and muttering will make it buck like a wild horse.

I learned that John Cleese still plays pompus better than anyone.
"A site where riffs evolved from movies?!"

"It's a mad house. A mad house!"

I learned that all muggles become blind once they get on a railroad platform, so there's absolutely no reason to look inconspicuous while you run through a solid wall.

You know in the book they make it a point that you are supposed to be stealthy about going through the barrier but in the movie they just barrel on through lol  ???

A dreary British boarding school is still a dreary British boarding school even with magic.  God, how depressing.
" A woman who takes her husband about with her everywhere is like a cat that goes on playing with a mouse long after she's killed it." SAKI

At HOGWARTS i LEARNED that HERMIONE emphasizes ONLY every OTHER word. AND that's ACTING.

I learned that hundreds of owls congregating primarily on one property in the neighborhood is no reason to stand around outside gawking or to contact animal control, or maybe the police.
I've watched so much Futurama that I don't think twice about owls-as-common-as-rats.

That's because the hogwarts Oral Communication class is taught by that princess chick from Dungeons and Dragons, with guest lecturer Queen Padme Amidala.

I learned that 3 10 year olds who know almost nothing about magic can get past the best defenses the greatest minds at Hogwarts could muster.

Also, Dumbledore is thick as a stone and blind as a bat. Is that Harry being jinxed? I can't be bothered to help him.

Hagrid is the biggest idiot on the planet. He just tells everyone everything.

Most important:

I learned that putting kids in harms way is perfectly acceptable, especially if the kids are being punished for being out of bed at night. Hey kids, there's a powerful monster out in the forest that likes to kill things. You go that way, and I'll go this way and lets try to find it!

I've learned that none of the Rifftrax crew knows the difference between a Scottish and an Irish accent. Sorry, someone had to say it.

I learned at Hogwarts:

- rats, toads and owls make excellent pets, though why I would want a toad is beyond me.

- Magic effects look vaguely similar to the effects in Star Wars

- I would not want to Hogwarts because there are no computers.

- There is no such thing as scientific advancement.

- Snape is really, really, fluffy.
"I'm going to a special kind of hell, who's coming with me?"

I learned that brainless half-giants who breed dragons in their spare time are less threatening to 11-year-old kids than an average British family.
