There is a deep underground homo-sexual conspiracy in the Air Force.

Not playing by the rules moves you ahead in the Navy!

During the Cold War, American and Soviet pilots were allowed to shoot one another out of the sky with gay abandon, with no possibility of diplomatic consequences or military discipline.

That Rifftrax should not be done for films that already have parody films based on them.  Watching Top Gun, even with the riffs, makes me think of Hot Shots.  And I found myself laughing at the Hot Shots jokes that I remembered more than Mike's and Bill's riffs.

I think that shouldn't be an iron clad rule, but they should use caution when picking movies that fall into this category.

Needless to say, Top Gun is my least favorite Rifftrax so far (haven't seen Point Break or The Matrix yet).  Just my $ .02 worth.

To move on you have to "give up the Goose"  *ba-dum-ching!*   ;D

I learned that Tom Cruise wouldn't make a movie that was better than Top Gun until he did Cocktail.
Snowhead the Blue Reindeer gave me all the presents in the world.

I learned......

Maybe having a song performed by the middling bands like "Berlin" and playing it for two hours straight is not such a good idea.
Perhaps Messina was the brains behind "Logins and Messina".
Navy pilots were the reason for the "dont ask, dont tell" policy.
The soviets really did not mind having their migs shot down.
A capon is not the same as a goose.
Meg Ryan is a cutie, even in mourning.

I learned...

Adrian Pasdar (now starring in NBC's Heroes) appeared in Top Gun as "Chipper"

Johnny_Short_Torso

I learned that Tom Cruise is trapped in the closet... no wait, I learned that from South Park  ;D

Sharktopus

I learned that Meg Ryan can make a horrible movie even worse, even if she's only onscreen for a couple minutes.

Agreed, her performance was SO damn grating, especially the following lines: 1) Hey Goose, you big STUUUUUUDDD!!!,
2)One things for certain, there are hearts breaking wide open all over the world to-nite!

LadyKenobi

Yeah, I really wasn't 100% prime-time in love with her performance.  Or her multicolored hair.  Pick a shade, Meg.
